I replaced the King Controls In_Motion DirecTV Standard Def dish with the Wiengard DirecTV Traveler. You cannot use it when in motion. I have found that I receive a stronger signal with the Traveler than I did with the King Controls unit. The Traveler is a Slimline Dish and has a much larger dish area to receive the signal. I would not worry about it being more difficult. Don't hesitate, you'll be much happier with the Traveler. The In-Motion King Controls was only good for receiving Sirius Music when traveling anyway.Re: 12 volt disconnect solenoidIn addition to moisture, the current rating should be checked. Over current condition will cause them to overheat. Check the temperature of the solenoid while using a several items in the coach. If it is HOT (warm is OK) it most probably is under rated.Re: Any Beaver ownersI have a 2006 Monterey and you have the same ones. I use my camper as a guest house in the winter, but always drain the water tank, etc. I would like to have full functionality though with the water system for the sink and toilet, etc. for guests. Has anyone used these heated water hoses? Just as important, does the heat from the hose radiate to the actual faucet enough to help keep IT from freezing? Thanks in advance! Dak Do not buy a Pirit! Sent 2 back. Search "heated rv water hose" on google and see posts on IRV2.com It will not provide enough heat to keep the internal water pipes and faucet from freezing. Put a radiator type heater in the camper and open doors under sink. JMHORe: Dingy towingGo to Motorhome Magazine web site @ http://www.motorhome.com/category/rv-how-to/dinghy-towing-guide/ They do an annual dingy towing guide, see previous issues, usually January. You should find your answers there.Re: West coast 3 week trip The Pacific Coast Highway is arguably the most scenic road in all of America. Don't travel that far and miss it. Absolutely a must! There are so many nice places to choose from but a must see and at least a two night stay is in Yosemite but advance reservations (6mo min) are necessary. My preferred route is up HWY395 (past Mt. Whitney, highest peak in North America) to HWY120 west, thru the mountains into Yosemite from the North/West. Haven't done it since the big fire this last August. Then I'd shoot to the coast on HWY 152 to Salinas and do the 17 mile drive thru Monterey and visit Big Sur. Take the Pacific Coast Hwy thru Santa Cruz, Half Moon Bay, San Francisco and the Golden Gate Bridge. There is a redwood state park north of Santa Cruz but the best Giant Redwoods are 200mi north. You're probably pressed for time at this stage and you can jump on I80 and head east. If you have more time, follow the PCH as far north as you can, you will not be disappointed. Have a safe trip.Re: Yakima, Wa to Death Valley in NovemberHwy 395 south once in California is beautiful and worth the experience. I averaged about 2 trips during the winter for the last 6 years and only once did I have to overnight in Mammoth Lakes until they had the road cleared. December, January and February can be snowy but CALTRANS does a great job clearing the road. From Reno to the first Death Valley turnoff is about 7 hours at 55MPH (California MAX Speed when towing). Be sure to do it during the day, the views are beautiful. I drive it in a 40' DP towing a Grand Cherokee. I found 395 south of I90 to US20 to be a road I will never drive again. Did it at night and white knuckled all the way. Have a safe trip and enjoy Death Valley. Russ
