I will check to see if there is a reset button. I'm just concerned as to why it tripped.Re: 12V fuse in junction box on trailer frameThe maintenance output is ~13.6V, the wires are stock, I think 6ga. Do you think when the charge wizard went into boost mode it blew? The stock PD9140 is a single stage.12V fuse in junction box on trailer frameI recently upgraded to 6V GC2 batteries and added a Charge Wizard to the existing converter/charger. Everything tested good prior to and during a 4 day dry camp. Ran the generator a bit and it showed the batteries charging. Got home, plugged the trailer in and the batteries were not taking a charge. Checked the voltage on either side of the fuse or breaker in the junction box on the frame near the tongue and found the difference. What type of fuse/breaker is this and value? Any speculation as to why it blew? Thanks.Re: Voltage drop on inverter MEXICOWANDERER wrote: Telephone and talk to Blue Seas Systems. They have their act together when it comes to supplying what you need. Phone: +1 800-222-7617 A direct continuous short can blow your batteries to shreds. Ignite your inverter and a bunch of other nasty deeds. They say and I agree CLASS T fuses are the proper way to fuse ANY inverter. I learned this 30 years ago from Trace Engineering. But Blue Seas will set you straight. Circuit breakers have a specific use for a specific application and PROTECTING ELECTRONICS is not on that list. Hope this helps I apologize for hijacking this thread. I'm looking to get about a 2KW inverter, I called Blue Sea and was told the class T fuse size depends on the inverter input specs. None of the inverters I look at online give that particular spec. Am I not looking in the right place?Re: Direct replacement for PD9140 converter?Another related question: I'm replacing my 12V batteries with 2 GC2 6V 230ah batteries in a vented tongue box and plan to install a ~2000W or so pure sine inverter. Since I shouldn't put the inverter in the same battery box, the nearest area I can install it is about 6-7 feet away inside the trailer. Is there a way to calculate what size cables I need for that distance or is that just too far to be efficient?Re: Direct replacement for PD9140 converter?Excellent, thank you for the suggestions!Direct replacement for PD9140 converter?I searched for this with no luck. Is there a 3 or 4 stage direct replacement (footprint) for the PD9100 series converter? Also, the Progressive Dynamics web site said to not exceed the original converter amperage due to wiring, etc. If I increased it then I assume I would need to install larger gauge cables between the batteries and converter? Thanks.Re: Ceiling repair advice needed opnspaces wrote: As an after thought is your's a Jayco? My ceiling panel trim and wall paper looks eerily similar to yours. The strip is stapled so once the paper is glued do you think it would be better to glue the strip back or re-staple?
