My plans are to leave GA and get to the grand Canyon in about 3 days. I will have 21 days to do my trip and i would like to come back slow and enjoy places in New Mexico, Texas, and other big stops on the way home. Has anyone on this form taken a similar trip? I would appreciate any feed back. I will be traveling wife and kids ages 5 and 8.Re: Middle bunkhouse 38' and smallerIBcarguy... I was curious, are you using the 4" offset ball as well? I'm looking at the Anderson hitch and I'm interested in getting the Jayco 30.5 MOBH. I drive a 2016 Silverado 2500hd w/t a 6 1/2' bed and It has the B&W turnover system in it. I'm just worried about the 5th wheel hitting my truck. I will be new at this and don't want to have to worry about. I also didn't want a big slider in my truck because I need my bed space when I'm not towing and like how the Anderson could be easily removed. thanksRe: Middle bunkhouse 38' and smallerHas anyone used an elite sidewinder? I was think of running this setup with a Jayco Eagle Ht 30.5? The Reese 5th airborn has a air ride, so this should take care of the Chucking right? It also has a turret that moves the pivot point back 21" so the pivot Pont is at you pin box wings and not at the king pin. This should make tight turns worry free right? Has anyone run this? Or does anyone have any more sugestions on a 5er that would be in this class with a mid bunk house? The jayco seems a little high is it worth it?Re: Middle bunkhouse 38' and smallerI was thinking about getting the Reese Revolution to make sure I don't have any issues with the trailer when I turn tight. My truck has a 6 1/2 foot bed. Do you have any issues? Is the MORryde rubber pin box something that you can add on to the Reese Revolution to help out with chucking?Re: Middle bunkhouse 38' and smallerAccording to Jayco, the Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (lbs) is 11950. and 9600lbs dry. Does anyone else know of a trailer that has this same setup in the weight class? this would give me plenty of room for any extras I need to bring as well room for a generator if a wanted to add one.Re: Middle bunkhouse 38' and smallerIt looks like the sandpiper's ar 15500 when loaded. for my, truck Chevrolet says my max tow weight is 14000. I really wish they made more light weights like the Jayco with the mid bunk designMiddle bunkhouse 38' and smallerMy family is currently in the process of looking for our first camper. We really like the mid bunkhouse design because it will allow everyone in our family to have a comfortable seat in the main living area. I really like the Jaco Eagle 30.5MBOK because it is lighter and it will not cause my truck to be overloaded fully loaded. I drive a 2016 Chevy Duramax 4x4. Does anyone know of a Mid bunk house design other than the Jaco? I would really like to find some comparables that have 2ac's auto leveling and outdoor kitchens that do not exceed 13k fully loaded. Any thoughts would be appreciated! Thanks, Happy camping!
