I had a 2007 Montana 3400RL and had an intermittent slide operation issue and found it to be caused by a bad ground to the battery.Re: West Montana suggestionsMountain Meadows was good for usRe: best gps app for rversI like my Good Sam GPS 7735 LM powered by Rand McNally because it has RV settings and is advertised to only route you in a truck like route. However, towing a 40' 5th-wheel with a combined length of 57' I never trust a GPS. I also use Mountain Directory West and try to over fly the route with google maps in the satellite view. An example of why...I planed a trip from Hill City ND to Cody WY. The Rand McNally GPS routed me over Hwy 14 Alt with 10% grade over OMG hill. I rerouted the GPS to take me via Hwy 16 and only had 5% to 7% grades.Re: across Washington on the 20?Per Mountain Directory West there are 6 caution areas on Hwy 20 from ID to I-5. Most 5% to 6% grades, with one 8%. I have only driven between I-5 and Winthrop (Washington and Rainy Pass area). Definitely doable, just slow and steady. I-90 only has 2 caution areas (Vantage Hill and Snoqualmie Pass) with 3% to 6% grades. I have drive I-90 from I-5 to ID towing our 40' 5er and there no problems...just the scenery is nowhere as nice as Hwy 20.Re: Backup/Observation CamerasI have a Tadi Brothers color wireless system that is advertised as good to 70' on my 40' 5th-wheel and when in high RF interference areas (like large cities and thus high traffic areas) the screen will scramble and is of no use. I had a wired system on my last 5er (39') and it was clear as day all the time. I installed both systems and if I had to do it over again I would go wired over wireless.Re: correct tire pressureMany of us fill between 105 to 108 cold.Re: RV parking or camping near Spokane, WABut is it like all the other SP in Washington and all the reservations are taken up 9 months in advance?Re: Level up systemAs boshog said it depends on the surface your pads are on. I have found that if on gravel or soft ground we get more movement the longer we stay...even with 12" x 12" jack pads under the level-up pads. When on cement RV pad there is little to no movement. It also depends on how much the level-up system had pushed the coach up off the tires.Re: Glacier Nat Park Full Hookups? We stayed and liked Mountain Meadows RV in Hungry Horse near the West entrance to Glacier NPRe: Passes to Leavenworth, WAIf it were me, and you're trying to show Mom diversity of scenery, I would go (and the way I go from Port Orchard to Leavenworth) I-5 to Hwy-18 to I-90 to 970 to 97 to Hwy 2 into Leavenworth. Return the same way then take Hwy-16 to Bremerton and at Gorst take Hwy-3 into Belfair. On the way home take Hwy-3 south out of Belfair to Shelton to Hwy-101 to I-5 south to home.
