I fit 200Ah into about the space of a group-24. Bet you could get 300Ah plus the BMS into that space.Re: One thing you use ALL the time?I'm going to say my lithium batteries. Go anywhere, do anything, without worrying about power (at least for several days), will the wife's cpap work, etc.Re: Dark Sky CampingI would recommend eastern Oregon. There's not much between Bend and Boise, plus it's higher altitude and dryer. I have a favorite forest service CG there where there's no electricity for miles.Re: Pull Through or Back in sites? Which do you prefer. For a one-nighter, pull through because they're usually long and level enough that we can stay hitched. Also pull-through if arriving very late at night so we create minimal disturbance. Beyond that it doesn't matter, there are dozens of other criteria for a preferable campsite more important than pull through or back in. However, I do prefer angled back-in sites. I've been in a few campgrounds (forest service, mostly) where the sites are at 90 degrees and really narrow road with trees either side doesn't let you back in a decently sized trailer.Re: ? Instant Pot QuestionsWe have the 3 quart and it's a good size for two. With say a pot roast and some potatoes it's two hearty servings or a bit of left overs. With rice it's almost too much as you have to cook a set amount in it. As for time savings, it's a bit of a false economy. Add in 10 min for heatup, 5 for cooldown, prep time and all the dishes you still need to wash and it's not THAT awesome any more. Still a keeper though.Re: John Day Fossil Beds NMI haven't camped that far south, we usually like Bull Prairie Lake campground as it's in the forest, by a lake, small, quiet and a little higher altitude than John Day so cooler in the summer. Facilities like your normal forest service campground, no reservations but never had a problem. It's maybe 45 minutes north of there and we make day trips down. April won't be an issue for heat. Shelton County Wayside may be another one to consider. It's also no hookups and is by a lightly used highway but down in a little valley beside it so not much road noise. There may be mosquitoes out by then, and there are ticks through mid summer, but no more than anywhere else.Re: Wireless 12v Battery Monitor/Voltmeter?We have the Victron BMV-712 (bluetooth) and while a lot more expensive than that other one listed, and install is a little more involved with the shunt, but I think its worth it. Very good battery monitor with a ton of functions.Re: What kind of gas can do you carry, and where? Rover_Bill wrote: 10L (2.6 g) NATO style jerrycan in a jerrycan holder bolted to my battery tray on the TT tongue. It provides fuel for my Yamaha 2000 generator and emergency fuel for the truck when towing. I also use a 10L NATO style can. Bought a couple several years ago and can't find any now. 20L cans and good reproductions are available. It's nice because the 10L can is about exactly a tank of gas for my generator.Re: gas hook up for big red on Grand Design gas portI would contact the folks at propanegear.com. They make low pressure hose adapters for many other pieces of equipment (I have one for my blackstone grill), perhaps they have something.Re: Portable Propane Fire PitsDuring fire bans, most campgrounds I have been at have disallowed propane pits too. Not because they're dangerous or covered by the ban, but because other people see them and think it's OK for them to have a normal fire. So, fun ruined by idiots as usual.
