We cut out the wet wood and replace/fitted with marine plywood. The water was leaking in from truck back tires water splash into the TT. The forward TT under-section was not properly sealed.Re: blind string replacementThanks for ideas !blind string replacementWhat are my choices on places to purchase string for blind in our TT ? Do I have to purchase "rv string kit" from Camperworld, or just string somewhere else? I just need the stringRe: Do I need a sway bar? That is the best video I have seen in quite awhile !!Re: Ultra light TT brandsAgree, Scamp, Casita and, of course, a JayFeather Sport 165Grease GunsWhat has your experience been in using a small grease gun to replace grease in wheel bearings? I have my bearings repacked every spring and last summer still had bearings burned out. No doubt they were repacked improperly. Our TT has "buddy boy" bearings set up so can easily apply extra grease in emergencies. My idea is to carry a small grease gun. Any recommendations on type of gun that has worked well for you?Re: Why so close? (CG site assignments) Belgique wrote: It keeps happening: a near empty CG but when you get your site, you're cheek and jowl. Where we are now...a great CG: there are really only 3 rigs and the CG has MANY sites open...all in a row. Yet all 3 of us are next to each other..as in awnings almost touching. Luckily, the neighbors are all great, but it is puzzling since they could have spaced us 2 or even 5 sites separated. Yeah, I could have complained and demanded to be moved but I'm a nice guy and we were already committed..sort of..and will only be here 2 nights. I know that a critic will launch on that. Not just here...seems to happen a lot...at least to us. Maybe CG owners will read this. And, before someone asks, I mentioned it on rvparkreviews.com. I expect you were at the Meadows RV Park in Ketchum, ID. That is the way they operate. We asked why.... and were advised that the large rig pulling in next to us would spoil grass if they were elsewhere. Our rig is 16 feet; theirs was 36 feet. We no longer go to that parkRe: Towing at night in hot weatherWhen I balance out the increase danger of night driving v day driving (even hot) it is an easy decision. I drive during the day. I doubt if many have driven in any hotter day time temperatures than we have. And we have had no issues.Re: Thinking about where to retire? Some things to consider. It was 80 degrees today in Phoenix !! And yesterday and tomorrow more of the same.Re: Licensing RVers---is it time? KD4UPL wrote: I completely agree that commercial vs. private shouldn't matter. Physics still apply both ways. Human skill, knowledge, hand-eye coordination, are still relevant regardless of how it's registered. Not knowing how to use air brakes is just as dangerous in a 40,000 pound Class A as it is in a 40,000 pound commercial truck. Maybe I'm biased because I'm a former truck driver and I keep my class A CDL current. It's always bothered me that there's no law to stop a 16 year old kid from getting into his dad's class 8 toter home with 40' toy hauler and heading across the country. I also believe that any driver, CDL or not, should have to take a road test every year after a certain age, maybe 75 or so. Yes, I agree that licensing "big" rig drivers would be appropriate for us and others on the road with us.
