Have upper/lower stable loads, air bags and remote control, Ford bed liner, billsten shocks. Camper was hit by a massive hail storm this summer, have to get it down to Pueblo to get hail damage repaired. Truck also, but have a couple of estimates for it. Truck carries it fine. All I have to say!! DavidRe: Dare I travel with water in these temps? There is no need to "lower" the air pressure in your tires. They are designed to be aired up to the max on the sidewall when COLD. After driving a while, yes they get hot and the pressure will go up...but letting air out is NOT recommended. The next day when you start out the air will be exactly what it should be as the tires are again cold...seems to be a lot of bad info on times floating around...Re: Lancer Camper. Inc Sold OutWell, I for one am glad I traded a 2013 Lance 1172 for a 2018 Host Mammoth. Lance makes a good product but the slides on my 1172 had a major problem opening and closing, never knew if they would work or not. The Host I have now is just awesome, slides and every thing else work perfectly. Not knocking Lance, I just got a bad one. Hopefully Host will continue to be a builder of great campers but I guess what happened to Lance can happen to anyone...Re: coachmen freedom 258 db 2004 25 ftFor you who wonder, yes our tires are original. They too look great with exception to the fronts which are wearing badly from too much up/down motion. The weight distribution is too much on the rear axle, too little on the front axle, hence enough up/down action to cause scalloping. If your tires are 10 years old they should have been replaced 5 years agoRe: Truck Camper - RV Leak Check In The Rain 12 02 2017Jeeze, if it works, what's wrong with that???Re: 2017-2018 Silverado 2500HD / 3500HD 4x4ord wrote: My 2016 F350 was rated for towing a 15,700 lb 5th wheel which is very close to the weight of my trailer. It handled that weight extremely well. I'm sure the new diesel SRW Silverado would handle a 16000 lb 5ver even better....the '17 GMC 4x4 Crew Cab Duramax SRW regular box is rated for a 17,200 lb fifth wheel. 2017 GMC towing guide Jeeze, my F350 dually, HD, short turn front end, 4.30 gears is rated for something like 28000 lbs...Re: What portable Air Compressor to buy?Viair 450P Automatic Function Portable Compressor. Seems like you could run a small coffee pot with a 1000 watt converter???Re: Real funny story that's not so funnyNo S***. I thought it was funny...guess it "depends" lolRe: Does owning a camper make you rich or a cheap tightwad?Well, was married for 26 years. Had an old 15' pull trailer, then a 1960's truck camper, a 38' 5th wheel, 2 lance TC's now own a Host mammoth. My wife passed in 2000 and boy did we enjoy those times. For the past several years I have owned campers but haven't really done any camping...that is going to change in 2018. We saved our money when I was in the Army, Own our home and last year I bought a 2017 Harley Street Glide (what a beauty)! I'm now 69 and the only thing I've done since my wife passed is ride a Harley. Been thinking I really need to go again. Even by myself. I've forgotten how beautiful this country is, how many places I haven't been to, in the middle of Montana or Utah or N or S Dakota. Am I rich? Well got a little, but worked like hell to get it. Got some friends that seem to think I'm rich, or a little crazy, or whatever. But life is short, so short. Screw what people think, get out there and do it...
