Google maps says the 5 to 14 to 178 is only 18 miles further. (or 210 to 5 to 14). I'd rather take the 14 to 178 if its a nicer road that will be easier on the truck and trailer and only 18 miles longer. I'll try the other route another time. Best place to grab some diesel on this route? Any dump stations in Kernville or along this route? Thank you for your time. I really appreciate it.Best route towing 29' to Isabella lake. 5 or 14 to 178.Heading to headquarters campground north of Isabella lake next week. Towing my 29' 5th wheel toy hauler. Starting in rowland heights (near Anaheim, diamond bar, west covina). Should I take the 5 or 210 to the 14 to the 178 west? Or the 5 to the 178 in Bakersfield? I don't mind a longer drive if it is an easy tow route. From what I have researched, it sounds like the 14 to the 178 would be a easier drive. Thank you for your time. USARe: Leaky Fresh Tank. Need help relocating pump fitting on tank.I think I will be going with that idea ScottG. The interconnecting pipe has been repaired/modified several times by the previous owner and I, so it's not in the best shape. But I think it will do just find temporarily until I figure out what is going on with the other tank. Hopefully I can go from 2" ABS to pex/water pump line without too many adapters. I sold my f350 a little while back..... One of the best trucks I have ever owned, still miss her to this day. If I could afford to have kept her, I would have. Now I'm in a 2003 dodge dually with the cummins. Thank you for your time.Leaky Fresh Tank. Need help relocating pump fitting on tank.2004 WW The two freshwater tanks are connected with a pvc pipe that has a drain in the middle. The front tank has developed a leak somewhere on top where I can't see/feel. I haven't taken the time to drop the tank and search for the leak because the pvc pipe connecting the two tanks has broken off into the first tank. I don't know if I will be able to remove the broken piece or repair the tank to were it is usable again. I added fittings, clams and seals for now but it still drips slowly. I would like disconnect the two tanks, cap off the rear tank and just run off the rear tank, until I can drop and access the front tank. The freshwater pump runs to a fitting on the bottom of the first tank. Does anyone know the best way to connect the freshwater pump to the rear tank? I don't think I can install a bulkhead without access to the inside of the tank. How about a 1/2" uniseal, pvc fitting and barb that connects to the water pump line? Any help would be great, thank you for your time.Re: Rewiring trailer brakes, best place to ground them? Thanks for the info!Rewiring trailer brakes, best place to ground them?Issues with the trailer brakes, going to rewire. 4 drums. Original setup has a set of two wires running to each drum. Going to run one Marine grade coated wires for 2 drums, instead of all 4. My question is where is the best place to ground all the drums? One ground per drum on frame? Ground all four at the junction box with truck and trailer? Thank you for your timeRe: Help finding Short/Open loop in trailer brake system. Thanks for all the info, I appreciate it.Re: Help finding Short/Open loop in trailer brake system.I believe the issues was were the wire connect at the first brake drum. It gained connectivity when I wiggled the crimp cap around. I will replace the cap/connection there. Everything else looks good but There seems to be moisture in my axle, I can see it when i pull out the wire a little bit. Over the next few weeks i'm going to replace all the fuses, circuit breakers, connectors, service wires under drums and at least replace the wires going thru the axles. A portion of the brake wiring is well insulated, it kind of looks like romex. Does anyone know where I can buy it or wiring that has heavy insulation? Thank you for your time.Help finding Short/Open loop in trailer brake system.2004 WW fB200 Toyhauler The trailer brake unit inside my truck is showing a short or open loop code. My friends truck says the same thing when I plug the trailer into his truck. The +, ground and all the trailer lights work fine on the trailer. When towing the truck looses and gains connectivity with the trailer randomly. Physically moving the plug, wire, etc doesn't alter anything. Multi meter shows connectivity between the trailer brake wire (blue) and the turn signals, running lights, ground, etc. I have traced the wires from the plug to the brakes and have not found any issues. Could the issue be were the wire physically connect to the brakes? Could the emergency brake unit be causing this issues? Any info to finding the source of the problem would be great. Thank you for your time.Re: Aluminum siding bulging out. Unsure how to fixThanks for the info. I will do more research before i start the repair.
