Returned that and got large easy out and it worked. Close tho. Took the threaded portion out and installed new plug. Prob solved. Thanks for all the help. RickRe: Water Heater drain plug head broke off..Remove Advice pulsar wrote: I carry a large straight-flute screw extractor, purchased at Sears. I've only used it twice, once on my rig and once to help a fellow camper. it worked fast and easy. A sprinkler nipple extractor (Lowes or Home Depot) works the same wan and just as easy. Neither damages the threads. Tom Thanks Tom I'm a callin' Ace Hardware next. You guys are great for us new RVers. rickWater Heater drain plug head broke off..Remove AdviceAtwood 6-gal drain plug head broke off. Orig that came with the MW presume. 2000 yr RV. Tryin to out how to get the threaded portion out. No water in the RV till I do. How about putting a drill bit that is just a little larger in it, tap in a little and turn it counter clockwise. Only other way I see is buy a large size easy-out and use that. Any other ideas oh great sages? rickOpen Road TT?There's one next to me at an RV park and I like the looks. If anyone here has experience with them, please respond with problems your have encountered and money spent since buying it. Do they travel well etc etc.. Thanks RRRe: Abt ball hitch towing lanerd wrote: stinking? Yeah,....a little levity goes along way ;) RRRe: Abt ball hitch towingCamp & TX - Yep I'm on board with the diesel. Tanks RRRe: Abt ball hitch towing Houston Remodeler wrote: we have a 2014 ram 2500 srw and tow a light weight 29 foot TT with no problems at all. Barely know the TT is there. Uphill, down hill, the cruise control stay pegged at 65 mph doing an average of 14 mpg HR - I assume your talking diesel engine. I've never had one but now that the sound and smells and improvements are solved/added, I'm gonna get a diesel. What TT do you tow via the ball hitch. I know nothing abt them except I want them one that is self contained with the largest LP tank ever created? Ha RRRe: Abt ball hitch towing campigloo wrote: I presume you are talking about the receiver hitch and not the bumper. With that truck and a weight distribution hitch with some sort of sway control 30' is definitely doable. What engine do you have? Camp - I havent bght the truck yet but $ is no issue. I was stinking abt a 3500 then after research I see the 2500 or even a 1500 with HD tow package and a diesel might handle it. I had a 1988 GMC 3500 Crew 4x4 with the 454 in AK and loved it. I made a mistake and sold it when I left Ak in 2013. Thinkin abt buying it back. I have been traveling since Oct 2013 in a 30' Minnie Winnie and thinkin my stays wld be so much more enjoyable in a TT or 5er. Just more room for me and the pups. Oh, I tow a 2009 Grand Cherokee Limited Trail rated with Quadra Trac II that will tow 7.2k lbs itself. I cld use it but when I get back to bldg I cld use a truck. IOW, I cld sell the MW and tow with the Jeep till I lite. Then buy whatever truck I want....or, buy the truck now and sell the MW and Jeep. Just mulling it all over and wanting input from the sages here. RickAbt ball hitch towingI was stinking abt doing a 5th wheel with a 2014 2500 Ram truck. However, I don't want to give up my bed use with a canopy on it. Hence, that throws me to towing via the trailer hitch. I don't need a super long super huge TT. Just say 30' or so. Is this possible and which light weight TT would you guys and gals recommend? Tanks RickRe: THE LONG AWAITED TRUCK IS FINALLY HERE!!!!! Cummins12V98 wrote: Well the LONG awaited new truck is finally in my driveway!!!!! 2015 LongHorn Dually Crew Cab Aisin/4:10 combo. Oh yea rear air too. Picked it up yesterday at AutoNation in Seattle. So far with just a couple hours behind the wheel I like it. There are so many new things to learn compared to my 11 HO Dually LongHorn I traded in. I was NOT happy with the ride. The factory had 80psi on all 6 tires so I dropped the rears to 45 and it rode MUCH better. The Aisin/4:10 combo will really get the load moving easily compare to the 11 with 68RFE/3:42's. The "Full On" exhaust brake mode is awesome. The front suspension makes the 11's look wimpy! Very massive. Have a B&W RVK3600 sitting in the bed in two boxes and am anxious to get that installed and my HighwayProducts bed height tool box installed. Can't wait to hook up and really give it a workout! yes very nice... AFter research I am gonna get a Ram and maybe the same model you bought. Are there any additions I need to stink about..? Was it necessary to up grade to the "H" loading tires? thanks Rick
