It did make hooking up easier with not having to let the gate down. I did however have a wooden block made of 3 2x6's a foot long sucked out going down the highway at 65 mph. Back to towing with the gate on. I could not believe that block would come out, but it did.Re: 1997 GMC K2500 Suburban - no brakes in tow harnessI had a similar problem with my 98 3500. I took a trip to the shop and pulling the steering wheel to correct the problem. The Mechanic now curses every time he sees me coming.Re: Gulf State ParkA little off of the beaten path. But the park is excellent. The sites are fairly large and some of them are on the water. Great Park.Re: Cheyenne to YellowstoneYou do have a pretty good rise out of Cheyenne. Made that the first time in a v6 minivan (pulling nothing). Thought something was wrong with the vehicle. I could not keep it out of second gear. Three years ago I pulled it with a 6.0 chevy 2500 pulling a 5vr. Just let the engine rev and watch your temps. It is a pretty long pull to the top.Re: Need Help Choosing NC Campground Near MountainsWe stayed this past summer at the NASCAR (it has another name, but I don't recall what it is) in Maggie Valley. We enjoyed the stay. We had sites right on the creek. The creek sites are very narrow. They also have pull through sites that are not creek-side. There are a lot of permanent folks there, but they were very friendly. The pool was dug-up. Not the best place we have ever stayed but would again to visit the area. Be aware that a lot of business in Maggie Valley are closed and some are closed certain days (restaurants).Re: Ohio Amish Area Campground SuggestionsStayed at Berlin RV in 2012. Good place if you just need a base camp. It is on a hill side, but gravel pads were fairly level. Sites were wider than many places we have stayed.Re: Radial pullHad GYs on a car 15 years ago with same problem. Owner of shop was a good friend. He would drive that car after every service to check for such things. Sometimes he could detect it when I would not notice it. Changing the location of the tire would correct the problem. Never had on of them to go bad on me, and they lasted as long as the other tires on the vehicle with no other problems. Radial pull can still be a problem.Re: V-10 Excursion missing; no code or pending codeOthers have mentioned a fuel problem. I don't know how the V10 compares to the old straight 6, but had one that was doing the same thing. After several visits to different shops, finally had one suggest carbon build up. The owner suggested putting in on a machine to burn a cleaner through the engine. He did not think it would work and would probably have to pull the head. But half way through the treatment we were standing by the truck when the engine sound noticeably changed. No more low rpm miss. I don't know what the machine is called or what is uses. But the problem was definitely fuel related.Re: Heading to Pigeon Forge, TNWas in Pigeon Forge from Wednesday of last week until Tuesday of this week. Stayed at Pine Mountain. There were several open sites all the time we were there. We normally stay at Rivers Edge. We did do Thanksgiving a few years ago when our anniversary was on Thanksgiving day. More restaurants seem to be staying open Thanksgiving Day now than then. Crowds and traffic are just part of the experience. Have been in October. Beautiful, but crowds are terrible. We left Tuesday morning during a downpour. Rained on us nearly all the way back to Russellville. Cold and used a lot of propane.Re: Any input on my choice of tow rig?A 3/4 GM with he 6.0 of any of those years will do a good job with that size tt.
