Put a hitch on the Jetta which makes moving the dolly around much easier on rough, soft or uneven surfaces. I also made a 6' pole that uses the hitch so I can load/unload my kayak a whole lot easier. Now, if we can just go somewhere.1KViews0likes0CommentsRe: Florida Keys
Getting winter reservations here have been a problem which seems to get worse. Sometimes I've wondered if a small change would be helpful for the campers who live here and are still raising families and holding jobs who can't plan a year in advance. Pinellas County (St Pete, Clearwater, etc) has a beautiful CG at Ft Desoto where Pinellas County residents only can make reservations a month earlier than everyone else. If this was applied throughout the state, it would give the residents an opportunity to enjoy our campgrounds. No doubt a change like this will really piss off the snowbirds and some may start going to TX and AZ instead. However, the typical Florida family will have a chance to go camping too. Anyone have an opinion on how a change like this would help or any other ideas?1.3KViews0likes0CommentsRe: Escape window falls out
On my 5th wheel, the escape window has a hole in the extension arm which allows the window to stay open. On the MH,the extension arms are shorter and don't have any holes. Using the remote, I once set the input option on the Channel settings on Air/Cable to Cable and couldn't get the channel search to work. After putting it back to Air, it all appeared. Hopefully this is all it is. Update: We got a tow dolly after all. With REMCO & VW both saying it wasn't flat towable, it just made sense. Its a Tow Master with surge brakes so I don't have to consider a supplemental braking system or how to keep the toad battery charged. Plus, we can change the toad without having to install a new base plate or make any changes. The universal fit straps that came with it weren't easy to setup so I got some smaller size ones from Amazon for $28 that are much easier to use. If it becomes a nuisance and we want to change the toad to something 4 down towable, selling the tow dolly will be a breeze. They don't last long on Craig's List here and sell at a premium. The dealer we got the MH from gave us a great deal on the dolly too. Just wanted to say thanks again to everyone for your thoughts.1KViews0likes0Comments
