Most likely 95 will be open , but I wonder if flooding will affect the gas stations along I95. I think it was Matthew a few years ago that had me deatoring through Atlanta to avoid 95. Two major flood events for the same area in less than 5 years . We had Sandy , flooding is worse IMO than wind , the effects last well after the event. Prayers for those dealing.Re: Bahia Honda / Big Pine Key areaHave a place in Big Pine. Was there for 3 weeks starting 10 days after Irma. The Winne Dixie is fully operational. Square Grouper reopened. All hardware stores open. Cocoa's Kitchen , open. The bulk of Marathon buisinesses , open. Key West, basically fine and open. Gasoline totally available in both Marathon and the Tom Thumb in BPK. Verizon cell serive, fully operational. Comcast, spotty. Walgreens and CVS open on BPK. This from the end of first week in October.Re: Cheapest source for Honda 2000 genny? Boatycall wrote: I subscribe to a deal site that looks for deals like this, and this came up--- Northern Tool takes up to $200 off select Honda generators. Plus, get up to a $100 Northern Tool Gift Card for free with these purchases. (The amount will show in cart. You'll receive your gift card via email within 24 hours of your purchase.) So -- on a 2000- $899, free shpg, and a $50 gift card. I think that'll be about the lowest for a brand new one. So this is the route I ended up taking. Northern Tool ,899 with free shipping, no tax in my state, and a 50 dollar gift card. Plus I spent an extra 101 dollars and recieved a second 50 dollar gift card. Good deal. Thanks to all for your help and Geoboy for pointing out that the Honda 2000 will run the RV 13500 BTU AC with a mod to the AC called Micro-Air. Cool product I was unaware of. Hence the value of asking what might be an obvious question on this forum :)Re: Solar project thoughts. Not really a thoughtful comment, but impressive! Very neat install. If there was a previous thread on this , I missed it, I'll check. Im curious on the batteries.Re: Happijac tiedown system and the new Ford Aluminum bedsI tried the search function again after posting and got some hits with "aluminum bed". Which suggests frame mounted tiedowns. If anyone has comments on the subject they wish to share, please do . Otherwise I'll chase down framemounts :)Happijac tiedown system and the new Ford Aluminum bedsI called Happijac directly with this question and got an ambiguous answer. The new Ford F series now have aluminum truck beds. I guess to save weight. I have a Happijac tie down, the type that bolts through the bed bulkhead. I'de like to switch it over but wonder if theres a difference if the bulkhead is aluminum rather than sheetmetal in strength? Im picturing the bolts ripping through the aluminum like it was a soda can. I've been somewhat out of touch latly so if theres already opinions out there on this I missed them. It seems the 2017 F series is a redesign, there arn't even the bolts in the rear bumpers any more that used to secure the rear turnbuckles. Any input?Re: Cheapest source for Honda 2000 genny? 2oldman wrote: Looks like it's either 899 or 999. That's all I can find. And Camping world is 899. I have no idea how long you'd be waiting for shipping. Should we keep looking for you? (are you coming back?) Thanks for the leads guys. 2oldman, Im wasn't asking for anyone to search for me , but if anyone had a retailer that discounts they were happy with and wanted to shae the info. Usefull for me and lots of others that might read this. I've found several good vendors Im really happy with , just reading a thread like this. Again, thanks!Cheapest source for Honda 2000 genny? And the winner is ?Re: US1 Florida Keys Status Rangerman40 wrote: I've read a 100 different news stories on Irma since it hit, but let me see if I can find some links for you. Thank you. But no need to dig through for links.Since I made the request Keys news is finally surfacing. What I've got so far is bridges good to MM16. Road out at MM76 with repair imminant.
