When I go down to visit the kids in Surrey, I sure enjoy the return trip to the North Thompson. Give me the mountains any day. Glad no one was hurt, and hopefully you won't be too long getting the truck repaired. RonRe: You MIGHT be an RV'r if . . .X2 on whats a suitcase. Went back to Ontario on the train in March and DW asked what clothes I wanted to pack. M answer was I don't need to pack as they should already be in the RV.Re: Waiting at the Rainbow BridgeToday our faithful friend Pierre passed over the Rainbow Bridge He was a PBGV Cross that we rescued 12 years ago. It is with a heavy heart that I write this as I only wish there was more we could have done for him. He had nerve damage in his back and was having a loss of feeling on his hind quarters. He is being missed by his buddies Kia (Maltese x Jack Russel) and Spot (our rescued cat). Also His people are missing him greatly. He always came to play ball or help dig in the garden.Re: Handy Hints, Gadgets, Products & GizmosWe bought a set of T-Fal pots with a removable handle. This makes it much easier when packing up the trailer as everything stacks inside from largest to smallest. The handle is stored in the drawer by the stove. It clips onto the rim of the pots when needed. Sure saves a lot of space that was taken up by pot handles.Re: Cool Mods - Thread restored 10/18/2012Our first mod was to build a cabinet and shelf to keep TV, Satellite, and other things corralled. It was a pain to move them every time we hit the road. After this was don the DW mentioned that she didn't have a coffee table. I started to plan the building of this and she came up with another order. She wanted somewhere to put things like the coffee maker, toaster, and other appliances so she didn't have to remove all the cushions to get to them. This changed the coffee table plan. I built a box 4 ft long, 13 inches wide, and 16 inches deep. We put casters on one end so that it can be moved out of the middle aisle where it travels.the top is 50inches by 16 inches with a piano hinge on one long side. We also went to IKEA and purchased a under the bed table on which we mounted a set of drawers. I replaced the melamine top with a cutting board top and it gives us more food prep area and storage. we replaced the kitchen faucet with one that pulls out to spray. in the bathroom the DW picked up some small wire baskets that we have mounted above the sink to hold toothbrushes etc. we also mounted a second towel rack above the other and can now spread the towels out more. I have told the dw that we are not doing like the last time and looking for a new rig now that we have this one how we want it.
