It was an overheat situation. Found a lot of mouse nest stuff directly below the circuit board. And alot elsewhere, some around the throttle / governor linkage. So I appreciate all your advice and it saved me the price of that cleaning stick. Most of all I learned a lot of good stuff from you. I thought the fuel pump was only sensitive to high temp shut off. It is a 4kwatt onan. 03 Winnebago 324v. class C. I replaced the fuel pump and filter with Onan OEM about 2 years ago. Been running and starting great since then. But recently it shuts down after about 30 mins. with the AC on. Stays running with lower draw stuff like fans going.Cleaning Onan generator slip ringsHowdy, has any one bought that slick stick to clean the slip rings on their generator? I don't think it is rare although not many left. I have found they were all built better then newer ones and surprisingly all the appliances worked on all of mine, with some cleaning/fixing. The camper section has pretty generic parts, many still available. The chassis is most probably and MB300. Also with many parts available. Don't take no for an answer for parts. Could the rubber mounts be missing from your generator? Even found a small dead bird in there. It was a big gap. In my case the wood screws that held it on (wood backing cast into the backside of the fiberglass) . I will go back with coarse thread wood screws and re caulk with Proflex. I suspect you had a similar separation.Re: gas fridgeDoug R. - You are right. Throw away useful items is a waste.... An old fridge like that may be better then a modern one because it might not need any power to run. (no gas solenoid to hold open with 12v) Again - thank you for your truthful comments.
