We have absolutely no regrets. we love it.Re: This is a reason why Pop Ups aren't selling......Picking up our new 2016 Rockwood A192HW A-frame hardside pop up this Saturday. DW and I are very much looking forward to the downsize. We started with a base Rockwood Pop up and have had 3 TT's and one 5er in between. I'm sure there will be regrets in some cases, especially the loss of a full size washroom, but the positives in our current situation, will out number the negatives. Biggest positive for me will be storing it in my garage as opposed to storing it in a storage lot 4 miles away. Another positive will be not having to take care of and tow such a large trailer. We are empty nesters now and it's just the two of us. We are excited to make the change. I do agree with many posters on this subject, that the price we paid for this a-frame, exceeds many TT's that are 19-26 feet in length.Re: Considering another Pop Up BUTMike Up, Sounds like you and I are/were contemplating the same thing. I would like to downsize because of the ease of something smaller to store in the garage instead of the back and forth to storage lots like we have been doing for the last 20 plus years. We have been looking at A-frame hard sides. RV show coming up in 2 weeks in our area which we plan to attend. My wife says she'd go for the downsize, but I'm really not convinced. As for me, I'd do it in a heart beat. We started in a Pop up 25 years ago and I still miss the ease of owning one. We shall see :hRe: Considering a down size movewildtoad, Yes, the model we were looking at had a very abbreviated version of what we have been used to indeed. For this reason alone, it is still hard for me to believe she wants to pursue this investigation.Considering a down size moveHello everyone! My wife and I are considering downsizing this year and we were looking at the Rockwood A214HW hard side A frame pop up. We have had an RV of some sort for the past 25 years or so. One PU, three TT's, and our current FW. The down size consideration is for many reasons, mostly because we are empty nesters for the most part (son is away at college and don't particularly care to camp with us old people anymore), and we are planning to move into a condo within a couple years and want to be able to store the Rockwood in the garage, plus we are just looking to get back to basics even though A214HW has some pretty good amenities. I have been wanting to down size for years, but the DW would have no part of it until we went to an RV show last week and she fell in love with an A-frame hard side. I think, despite me telling her in the past it wasn't so, that she would have to go without any home style conveniences. We've always had to store our RV's at a storage yard due to city ordinances, so it would be nice to just pull this thing out of the garage at a moments notice, hitch up and just go. Just curious if anyone was familiar with the Rockwood A-frame, or any A-frame for that matter, and how your experience has been with this type of PU.Re: ~Post your campsite photos here~Xpd77-your top photo, how can anyone do better than that! Awesome view!Re: Holiday Rambler Power Roof VentThe brand I believe is Maxx Air-Maxx Fan. Is it possible that due to the fact the lift mechanism itself is messed up (cover can be lifted up and down from atop roof with no resistance),that the motor meets no resistance that it will not shut off?Holiday Rambler Power Roof VentHello Everyone, So, yesterday myself and two of my brothers went to pick up a used 2007 Holiday Rambler Presidential 34SKD that my one brother had purchased from a private owner a week prior. This trailer is top of the line and loaded including a power roof vent system. The trailer had been sitting dormant for approx. five years. The older couple (2nd owners) never had a chance to use it as the gentleman had passed away. Anyway, after hitching the unit up and plugging it in, we noticed the motor in one of the vents was continuously in the "on" mode. We pulled the fuse for the vent system to cease the motor operation. On the way home we discovered that the vent cover would just flap in the wind. Myself and brothers have had RVs for many years but none of us has ever had a power vent system. I was just wondering if anyone out there has had such a system and had any suggestions as to where I can get info to pass along to my brother. The maxx-air vent cover was missing over that vent which leads me to believe someone was up there messing with it at some point. The widow had very little info except that the unit had been professionally winterized before it sat for so long. We towed that trailer home on a four hour trip without issue. The tires were not original, in fact, they looked new. We had a portable air tank and off we went. I'm positive that we were being watched over yesterday as all the things that could of gone wrong by towing a trailer that has been sitting so long, did not happen. Thanks, any info would be great!Re: ~Post your campsite photos here~ mds47588 wrote: Natures Own RV Resort in Kingsville Texas. Work brought me here and hope to stay for awhile! Nice! Do you tow it with the Police Interceptor?Re: 2011 Ram brake issue?Well, mystery solved. Got a call from the service writer today. The "caliper guide pins" were completely corroded and "frozen" on the passenger rear brake caliper. The opposite side was "sticky" and on it's way to being like the passenger side. So, new calipers, rotors and pads for both sides. I am relieved. Have to believe that driving in wet, road salt covered roads every other day this past horrible winter may have had a hand in this. Should be done Monday afternoon. Thanks for all the replies and suggestions!
