Aduana only asked if we had guns, and the army checkpoint waved us through. The office at the Reef RV park required masks and had disinfectant on a mat to walk through and gel to use on our hands. Wrecked at the Reef had only outdoor dining with spacing and the waiters wore gloves and masks. The restaurant manager said they had to close down for 3 months. Beach vendors wore masks. We had a good time and will return next May.Re: The Reef, this month?I always had good wifi at the Reef-however I get online early in the morning. Much better than Playa Bonita where I had to walk over near the restrooms to get any reception. Reef still uncrowded, but it looks like I may have to get reservations from now on to get a beach front site. Nothing happening on the pier-I think they ran out of money again.Re: The Reef, this month?I was there just before Halloween. Hookups are fine, love their wifi. Don't know of any propane service. Good thing you have reservations-for the first time, I didn't get a beach front spot-arrived midweek in late AM, and all front row spots were taken. Place is getting popular.Re: Lukeville/Sonoyta CrossingFirst time in a couple of years-today I was waved through with no inspection of my travel trailer. I had no pets with me. Thanked the guard and she gave me a big smile.Re: Books to have?I drove with my 21 foot travel trailer, crossing into Canada by Milk River through BC, Yukon and into Alaska this summer. Churches book was very helpful. I also recommend their Pacific Northwest campbook for BC,and Washington.Re: Avoiding SeattleThanks, everyone. Don't know exact date I will use the ferry, but hope 2-3 days notice is OK. I have taken the 101 along the Hood Canal with my rig 2 years ago and will go that way again.Avoiding SeattleHi everyone- I will be returning from my Alaska trip the first week of August. Plan on crossing the B.C. border and taking the 5 and crossing to Whidbey Island, as I will be visiting family in Port Townsend. I have a Tundra and a 21 foot trailer with 2 cats. Has anyone taken the ferry from Whidbey to Port Townsend? Would just as soon avoid the hassle of Seattle.Re: Arizona campgrounds with electric hookupsMy favorite is Apache Trout campground at Big Lake. Great for summer at about 8000 feet. You may have to wait until next year for reservations, as everyone else likes it too.Re: getting readyWill leap off on June 9. My trailer is ready, just need oil change for truck. Meeting up with friend and her rig in Idaho or Montana, then on to Dawson Creek for one way Caravan trip. After Anchorage, we'll do our own thing. Two old ladies on the road!Re: Extreme Newbie questionI have camped at the Reef RV park at the end of May and the first week of June. Used my AC only in the afternoon, opened up the windows at night. It may get to 100 in town, but the breeze off the sea is nice. Water temp is great for swimming (watch for stingrays). Easy drive-I have done it alone many times.
