They aren't that uncommon. Something like this, but with a front tip out bed, you know like hybrids have, instead of the fixed bed. I'd think you could have essentially the same floorplan but the overall length would be maybe 7 feet shorter without the fixed bed at the front.Hybrid with rear living space?Has anyone seen a hybrid with a rear (or front) living space arrangement? I've only seen 'normal' TT or 5th wheels with that style of floorplan.Re: Total newbie, towing question regarding my TV EnzoColorado wrote: Haakon wrote: EnzoColorado wrote: Grit dog wrote: You're correct in that those are the only discernible differences. Yes replacing BOTH gearsets is expensive and not worth it IMO. Trans cooler, limit how hard you push er up the hills and all the other stuff you're planning, a 5klb trailer will be fine. Just won't be the first to the top of the pass with that kind of load at altitude. Thanks! Racing to the top of Independent Pass is not a priority even without towing a trailer. While reading this forum, I found a link to a VIN decoder and found this particular bit of spec for my VIN: Dead Weight Hitch - Max Trailer Wt. 5000 lbs 5000.0 min 5000.0 max Dead Weight Hitch - Max Tongue Wt. 500 lbs 500.0 min 500.0 max Wt Distributing Hitch - Max Trailer Wt. 8000, 5500 lbs 5500.0 min 8000.0 max Wt Distributing Hitch - Max Tongue Wt. 1200, 825 lbs 825.0 min 1200.0 max So if I use a WD hitch as I planned to, my max trailer weight will go up to 8000 lbs? So really no issues then. No, that's what the hitch is rated for not your vehicle. They use the same hitch on most if not all of the half ton Suburbans. Regardless of the hitch you still don't have the tranny cooler and have 3.08 gears. Okay, got it. Still plan to install a HD tranny cooler. Of course, I wasn't trying to talk you out of it. :) Even if it doesn't increase your tow capacity it should make your transmission last longer, heat is the enemy for transmissions.Re: Total newbie, towing question regarding my TV EnzoColorado wrote: Grit dog wrote: You're correct in that those are the only discernible differences. I noticed it when I first moved to WA in the 1980's, the drivers here certainly haven't improved with time. According to Allstate statistics Seattle has some of the worst drivers in the country. http://komonews.com/news/local/report-seattle-drivers-among-the-very-worst-in-the-nation It's obvious every time I drive out of state and (unfortunately) have to come back. As soon as you cross the state line into WA and start seeing more WA plates the drivers get worse and the closer you get to Seattle the worse they get. About a mile from my house is one of the big school bus stops, it's on large, open visibility, hairpin corner. Literally half the people going around that corner can't do it and stay in their own lane, going right or going left doesn't matter. It's no wonder there are so many accidents when half the people can't handle something as basic and following a curve and staying in their own lane.Re: post pictures of your HTTThe trains didn't bother me - I was already awake, I don't think anyone else in the camp was though! I like the camper so far, it feels huge and spacious all opened up.Re: post pictures of your HTTThanks Erik, it is the 3 bunk model, you just can't see the one on the end at this angle. I mis-spoke about where it is, and it appears to late to edit the post, that campground is between Ellensburg and Yakima, right along the river. Very nice spot...if you don't mind the trains going by at 5:30am :)Re: post pictures of your HTTFirst trip in our Coachman 23TQX at the Umtamum campground south of Yakima WA. Re: Where are all the folding trailer Fans?Dismiss Facebook and stick your head in the sand if you want, but there's no question hundreds of millions of people are using it and neglecting other sites. Just like RV.NET not everything on Facebook is a waste of time and people sharing boring pictures of their weekend.
