Bobby Hopper Tunnel The Bobby Hopper tunnel is no issue for an RV. I have pulled my 13'6" Montana through it probably 50 times.Re: Montana Fifth WheelOur 2016 Montana Legacy has done fine at 24 degrees supplementing the furnace with an electric heater and we were very comfortable. I have a temp probe mounted between the holding tanks and they never got close to freezing running the furnace maybe 10 minutes per hour. I don't have much to compare it to but it stays a lot warmer than our 2007 Laredo did in the same temp. Also our camper has over 300 nights spent in it and about 18,000 miles with no major issues and has never been back to the dealer since the day we bought it. Good quality or just luck? Who knows.Re: Camper black water tank fluid heats upDid someone put some bleach down the tank? Bleach and urine make a bad gas. DW did that once and the next time I flushed there was a fog coming up from the bowl.Re: My new Travel Trailer tires are not from China !Back to the tires now that we can have a civil conversation. Some question's for the OP, did your trailer stay outdoors? direct sun? tire covers? I am asking because I hear about these tires aging out but mine stays indoors climate controlled year round except when we are camping and they are covered then. They are Goodyear 614's put on at the factory with about 11k miles and are expensive to replace so I don't want to change them with out a reason. I just put Sailuns on my truck so if they hold up I will go with them on the camper at some point. Sounds like you either treated yours right or were just lucky.Re: Advice - tires againMy Vietnam made Sailuns have been great so far. Played the Michelin game before and won't waste my money on them no matter where they are made. My tire guy recommended the Sailuns and said he is seeing great results from them. I told him a lot of people say Michelins are a better value and he just laughed and said they were for him because he makes double the profit on them. Time will tell but so far I really like them. Re: Interesting way to tow a 5erThey at least had sense enough to put the rachet strap on it. Safety first!Re: TIres, looking for long wearing, all weather load range E ford truck guy wrote: I ran Nitto Dura Grapplers for my last 2 sets on my trucks... the Dura Grappler is more of. street tire, if yo want more of a AT, try the Terra Grappler G2.... I had the Dura Grapplers on my 14 Ram dually and it was an ok tire but they were worn out at 27K miles towing about 85% of the time. I know this goes against many on here but I am not a Michelin fan and after 3 terrible sets I have bought I would not put them on my lawn mower now. I just put a set of Sailun Terramax HTL's on my truck for half the price of most other tires out there and have been very impressed so far. Don't know about how well they will wear yet but hope they do as well as their trailer tires. I run 80 psi in the front and 68 in the rears seems to be the sweet spot with 3400lbs pin weight in the bed. These tires were made in Vietnam not China. Re: Slide out awnings yay or nay?We did not have them on our Laredo 5th wheel and after a couple of times getting on the roof to sweep the slides I said this is crazy and there must be a better way. Added a slide topper and never had an issue again. Ordered them from the factory on our Montana and have never had a problem with wind or anything else. I do know that if you have water pooling your topper was either not installed right or there was not enough room over the slide to mount the track high enough for the proper angle. If you have enough slope they will not hold water period. Its like a regular awning that does not angle down enough, it pools water. Lower or tilt it and problem solved. My vote is I would never be without them.Re: Grand Design vs Keystone? We ordered a 2016 Montana with the options we wanted and it has never been back to the dealer. Was it well built or were we lucky. This was the second Keystone unit we have bought new and the first one had no issues either. I would buy another Keystone.Re: Westlake tiresI don't have any experience with Westlake tires so I won't comment on those but I do have the following. My Montana has Goodyear 614's on it from the factory and they have been flawless. My 7000lb boat trailer has Goodyear Endurance tires on it for 2 years now and they have been flawless. My truck has a new set of 6 Sailun HT's on it (made in Vietnam not China)and they have been flawless. So in a couple of years they will all have some more age and more mileage on them for me to make a decision on what tire brand I stay with. At this point I would say you can't go wrong with any of those three.
