Going up the west side I guess - Banff - Jasper and coming out through Prince George. Enter in Montana and leave through Washington State. We have been planning for more than five years and have read every itinerary we could put our hands on. Talked to those that went before and got all the info we could. Now the "plan" will be good until the wheels start to roll - then we will figure it out.Re: emsMy experience with a 1999 Winnebago - 30 Amp. The rear (bedroom) A/C is not wired through the EMS or load shedder, therefore it does not show any amperage being used on the EMS panel. I would run both A/C units (both roof top) while on generator or plugged into a 30AMP RV outlet. If there is an overload, the EMS will shut things down that go through it, like the front A/C. Just my experience.Re: norcold 1200I am going to have Home Depot haul mine off when they deliver the new one. Figured $15 was worth it so I did not have to hassle with it.Re: residential refrigerator locksI purchased the Lamp Lock as well. Saw a Samsung RF18 in a brand new 5th wheel and that is what was used by the manufacturer. Probably adhere mine with 3M high strength tape.Re: residential refridgeratorInteresting Read - Going to replace our Norcold next week with a Samsung RF18. I have a side entry and have 28 inches, so I am good to go. Have to modify the cabinet - bottom cabinet drawer is going out, but we will have a great refer. Installing a new PSW just for the refer as well as a Magnum AGS.Re: Newbee question for long timeRVer'sLike a lot of motor home owners, we migrated from travel trailers. Four of them over a 12 year period. They all kept getting bigger. In 2005 we traded our truck and trailer for a 1999 34 foot motorhome. Put 20K miles on it (still working, retirement to come). We did a complete refresh of the interior, flooring and furniture. Took it in for some minor service work and walked out with our current 2009 37 foot motor home. For us, the price was right on the 2009, they were giving us top dollar for the 1999, and it will be paid for shortly after we retire. But, I think you should rent a unit first just so you have a little more information to make a decision with.Re: Insulating house batteriesI keep our motorhome plugged into shore power 90% of the time. After several days of temperatures in the 20s and below, I checked the coach and found frost on the outside of the batteries. Analog VOM showed about 11 volts. Still enough in the house batteries to fire up the generator. After running that for an hour (generator in front - batteries in back) no more frost on the batteries. I have a Progressive Dynamics 9260 Charger/Converter with intellicharge.
