All ActivityMost RecentMost LikesSolutionsBroken black water pipeI have a 2013 Keystone Springdale 179QBWE and a stump had a disagreement with my black tank waste pipe. There is a crack at the bottom of the pipe where it seems to exit the black tank. It looks like it might be in the glue or sealant used to mount the pipe to the tank but I don't know. My question is "what kind of connection is there between the pipe and tank"? I've seen you tube videos where it looks like it is a slip fit with an o-ring and then sealant around the outside. Others where it seems like just the cement bond is there. If I can get this info, I can determine if I can fix it myself or need to take it to a shop. Also, what is a source for the ABS fittings including a new dump valve and mounting brackets? Thanks in advance for any help on this. MikeRe: Can you attach Big Buddy heater to ourside grill line?I put a tee into the line for the installed heater inside the trailer and got a Mr Buddy hose with quick connect. I attached a short nipple to the tee, then a shutoff valve, then attached the threaded end of the hose. The other end has the quick connect that fits the mating piece on the Big Buddy. I have had no problems running the Big Buddy on high. Mr Buddy uses their own proprietary quick connects so you may have to get one of their disconnects. I got my stuff on Amazon, but I know Cabelas and most sporting goods stores carry their stuff. Hope this helps.Re: NFS campgroundsWe camp frequently in Boise National Forest campgrounds and they have one host responsible for multiple campgrounds. The campgrounds are small with usually less than 20 sites, but the host does his rounds a few times a day. He and his wife do live at one of the campgrounds and as mentioned before they can call up the ranger if necessary.Re: Cryptic message from MexicoGet well soon, Mex. We do miss you!Re: No need to camp to see critters...My brother lives on the side of a BIG hill (mountain) in Spearfish, SD and they have a herd of wild turkeys who cruise through his back acreage. They like to hop up on the birdbath, tip it over, and break the bowl. There are also mule deer that wander around. When they had their first snow he found tracks of a cougar across his driveway. When we visited last summer we saw the turkeys and the deer, but no mountain lions.Re: a better door hold-back device?baylito99, If you are referring to the magnetic one, I got mine at Home Depot. I also use one on the bathroom door to keep it open.Re: Forest Fires in Yellowstone and Grand Tetons.I saw that, too. Looks like they are closing a couple of campgrounds. http://www.nationalparkstraveler.com/2016/08/south-entrance-yellowstone-national-park-closed-grand-teton-fireRe: Cool Mods - Thread restored 10/18/2012Can you show an 'after' photo?Re: 12V QuestionThanks for the update and glad YOU got it right.Re: 12V QuestionJust something to think of - I also blew the 2 30 amp fuses due to connecting the battery up backwards. Those 2 are there just for that purpose. If you blew the fuses when you hooked up the battery and you have not reconnected the battery since (correctly) you will just blow any new fuses you put in. Good luck.
