If all 3 were running and you added additional load by turning on the microwave or something automatic such as hot water heater, fridge, battery charger it is possible the load management system could shut off one or more ACs. Most of these issue can be avoided by running fridge and water heater on gas only in very hot weather. You will need all 3 ACs running hard in the South when temps go 90 plus with high humidity. This is only in late afternoon with direct sunlight.Re: Grand Design Momentum , Think Twice Before BIG MistakeI am over the pain of GD purchase. In the end it is a OK RV with many expensive problems. Some covered by GD. It is a long shot from the quality of my KZ Toy Hauler. If thinking about GD just be aware it is just another camper nothing special. Price accordingly. GD has a very effective online team and people who are not supporters or cheerleaders are quickly eliminated and/or shut out. I would not put any creditably in GD owners form. Many posters don't even own a GD. They may be paid per post. Sight administrator and other owners get personal treatment that us regular folks will not. This is just my opinion. GD informed me politely after AC issue they were done, don't call them again. I have no bone in this fight camper is a 2014. Hope this helpsRe: Tow Vehicle - bedI picked up the same Chariot bed as R12RTee. It was used several states aweigh from my home. Chariot is out of business now. Classy Chassis and Utility Bodywerks make them currently. In my opinion there is nothing that compares with the quality and looks of these beds. 1/4 all aluminum construction with steel frame. I am refitting bed on a 2013 Chevy 3500. If anyone is interested I can post pictures of my progress on this project. They are $15,000 to $20,000 installed from above suppliers.Re: Grand Design Momentum , Think Twice Before BIG MistakeJust to change subjects. KZ announced today they reentered the Toy Hauler market. KZ was the first manufacture we went to at Hershey last year. Because my old one was a great RV. Not perfect but regular stuff, water leaks, cheap tires and more. If I could have put the updated inside of GD into KZ frame it would have been a great camper. K-Z Debuts Venom Toy Hauler at Texas Dealership Venom RV PRO Staff's picture By: RV PRO Staff Tuesday, September 1, 2015 K-Z is pleased to announce the first delivery of its newly introduced Venom, a brand new wide-body toy hauler, to Athens RV Sales in Athens, Texas.Re: Grand Design Momentum , Think Twice Before BIG Mistake NC Hauler wrote: offtohavasu wrote: One thing I have to disagree with Scott about is the "Grand Design" cheerleaders. You can call it what you want, but those are people who are genuinely happy with their trailer and their service. Additionally, you can go through the site and see there are owners who complain about certain issues, however, it's done tactfully. Scott brought a great deal of information to the site, there's no two ways about it. He has a great deal of knowledge in the "RV world" I think the issue came up with how the posts were done. Yes, he had some failures of equipment, but some of the faults were do to a failure to follow through on his purchase. The example I remember, and we discussed on the forum, was he assumed the awning was adjustable because other manufacturers offer it. That's like me assuming my Chevy comes with Microsoft Sync because it's offered by Ford. From there, it seemed the continually bashing began. He'd answer a question, "Yeah you need to replace the bolt. BTW Grand Design is a piece of ****." We all understand frustrations, we get it when one is not happy. But once that has been voiced, there's no need to beat a dead horse. We get it, you're not happy with your purchase, but that's no reason to beat up people because they're happy with their's. Guess it depends on how much money one paid for the unit and what appears to be, little to no support from his dealer and what also appears from all I read, ZERO customer relations from GD. If I'm wrong, then sorry. Untill proven differently from OPs story, no way could I recommend a GD 5er......and before I purchased the Jayco, GD is one I looked at. I'd bash too and keep it up just due to all the stress and frustration of the situation,,,,,guess you'd have to walk a mile in the OPs shoes before you would understand his ranting,,,,,,you yourself have gone on and on about his ranting....you DONT have to read his post...block him and be done with it....he got kicked off the GD forum, so you can take solace in that and be happy once again.... Not to be rude in any way "But". This person may have some other motivation, sure sounds like a GD cheerleader to me. I just tell the truth about my GD I have pictures and invoice to prove every post on GD and dollars spent on it. I like money and don't cut it lose with out a reason. Just to be upfront I am a High School educated only person who did things the old way. Started a business , worked my but off for 30 years and got lucky and sold it. 70 K for a RV is a lot of money to me. Most on GD can out type and out spell me any day of the week. I did a lot of my modification posts on GD and pointed out good and bad things with pictures. This may have played into things.Re: Grand Design Momentum , Think Twice Before BIG MistakeA update from original poster. Only after forwarding my original post to Grand Design (one being a upper executive) did I receive a reply from GD and Chris (cdtretta). I got a email today after almost 4 weeks from GD and Chris, AC will be paid for and membership will be refunded. They did make it clear I am on my own from here out and Chris has made it clear non GD cheerleader types are not welcome at his or the Grand Design Owners Forum web site. I think the real lesson for me and I hope others is don't put a lot of stock in some web sites. I have been a user of this sight for many years. I have been through several computer changes over the years and lost my old login. I used it a lot in my selection of 2006 KZ New Vision. I ended up buying one based on input from posters on this sight and purchased from dealer recommended from one poster. The complete deal was a great experience and it was a great RV. My big mistake was thinking that GD web site was unbiased info like this one. Looking back I can see the pattern of negative posters being discouraged, in fact in the early days of GD ownership I probably did it myself.Re: Grand Design Momentum , Think Twice Before BIG MistakeI just wanted to add. I am not new to the RV game. Started 25 years ago with tent, then a pop up, 2 travel trailers and GD is my 3rd 5th wheel. My second was a KZ New Vision Toy hauler. By far the best I have owned. It was great RV with just normal small RV problems, I owned it for 10 years. As far as " not bright " on warranty issues. I may be old school but I ask politely for help or service. Once ignored I fix things at my own cost quickly. Yes I am unhappy with GD but main goal is to keep others from making same mistake I did.Re: Grand Design Momentum , Think Twice Before BIG MistakeI am the first one to admit I was "not bright or stupid " in my purchase. Last week a poster asked about about customer service on GD web site I answered honestly about my AC experience vs a owner at GD rally who had one shipped overnight and installed next day free of charge. Apparently his dealer was involved and used it as a sales tool. I must have hit a nerve because they deleted my paid for membership next day and banned me from sight. Below is HIS response at different website. I just wanted to add no hard feelings about being kicked off of GD web site. You probably did me a favor. I did not really understand how tightly GD has control on this web sight. Yes, it's the same person. Are you saying they totally kicked you off the forum? If so, that's pure BS. You said nothing bad at all, just your experience and it wasn't like you were even talking bad about them. Sorry they did that but it'll just hurt them in the future if they won't allow both good and bad reviews. That's how a company improves; they listen to all customers and take the good and bad and learn from it. I had a feeling right from the beginning it was a tightly controlled forum. Too much cheerleading and no negative comments at all and if there were any negative comments they were quickly squashed. __________________ 2015 F450 2011 Fuzion 322 Touring Edition III (sold) C130 is offlineGrand Design Momentum , Think Twice Before BIG MistakeI would think twice about Grand Design Momentum. I own one it has been camped in twice. So far I have replaced all grease seals and brakes shoes. GD response was a link to LCI were I could buy new parts. Awning upgrade, Kitchen faucet replacement, Rear toy hauler ramp repair to keep it from falling off. Five new tires.Garage lights replaced. Propane tank retainers replaced. Fuel filter added to gen set. Awning light replaced. Replaced DVD/stereo system. All of this was done out of my wallet. The last straw for me was when my main (center) 15K AC went out at 25 hours of use. We where out of town with 3 guest in RV. GD was of no help. I ended up getting the only Dometic certified installer in area to replace it. Cost to me $ 900. I took the time and effort to bring old AC home. I contacted GD once we got home and offered to take it local dealer or whoever they wanted to look at it within 75 miles. That was 3 weeks ago never heard anything from them. The Grand Design Owners Forum is tightly controlled for negative comments so don't get fooled like I did.
