Hardly, they are a chinese designed copy of what an aussie trailer looks like. Plenty of other forums have posts about the poor quality, junk materials, and poor assembly. There are people who get duped into paying big dollars because it looks "Aussie" LOL.Re: Easy start on 2000 watt 13500 btudoesn't make much sense IMHO to have a small genny running at near 100% capacity for AC only when you can buy the predator 3500 for not much more money. The 3500 runs my 13.5 AC at less than 50% capacity it is quieter, will last longer, and there is available capacity to use other electronics.Re: AIRSTREAM - what makes them so expensive? KD4UPL wrote: Airstreams are all metal, no wood to rot. They are welded and riveted so there's really nothing to ever work lose. They don't require caulking either. They are built basically like an automobile, or, really more like an airplane. That takes a lot more expensive materials and a lot more workmanship. Of course, they also last for many decades. I'd love to have one but I just can't spend the money. The only thing aluminum are the exterior body panels. Your $50,000 + camper has cheap wood floors and a steel frame. Spend some time on the airforums and you'll see they have just as many problems as a $10,000 camper. Remember this is a Thor brand, airstreams are as cheap as everything else they build so as long as you are wowed by the history, the look, and nice interior then manufacturing, materials, and engineering don't matter.Re: Australian style TTs now available in the US -- big news! profdant139 wrote: For years, I have whined that the rugged Aussie caravans are not available in the US, and that there is no USA made substitute. Well, here we go: Black Series Very expensive, but for those of us who really want to boondock in rough country, it may be worth it. Check out the components -- very beefy! Those aren't aussie campers they are chinese, do a little more digging online and you'll find some good info on them. My advice, don't rely on their website and pictures. Looks are one thing, accurate information is another.Re: Portable generators question mgann wrote: Thank you all for the input. I think I've decided to buy the Champion 3500 watt, dual fuel, electric and recoil start inverter model 100264. I prefer dual fuel over remote start. Camping World price on sale for $1099.97 reg price $1299.97 Thanks for the help Good choice, electric start is a nice feature. Remember that when running on propane the wattage is less. I have the HF predator and am very happy with it. It is extremely quiet which is important if you want to be considerate to people camping near you and it is only about $700 with tax, has electric start also.Re: Firman GeneratorsWhat is Costco return policy on generators? if it ends up being a piece of junk return it. $479 plus tax is hard to beat. The HF predator is $649 when you can find a coupon, although that has electric start which I ended up liking more than I thought I would.Re: think i finally found our tt, thoughts? My camper has 28" wide bunks and they are fine for kids and adults. Sleeping in a narrow bunk a few nights per year is not a huge deal, but then again people have become pretty soft over the years so I could see how it could be very traumatic for some. Your truck should not have a problem towing that camper but if you are towing a lot or cross country you'll probably wish you had something larger. My F150 with the 2.7 has 1640 payload and my camper tongue weight is around 650 so I can't even tell its back there.Re: Lemon Travel Trailers in Australia deltabravo wrote: And what brand is it? Most will loan a newbie a telescope to try. Go to their sponsored viewings and look through different types of scopes. Don't be buying one without some knowledge and experience. Learn from the club. Oh, and one more piece of advice. There will be some members glad handing you and offering to sell theirs to you. This may or not be good. Sometimes people just want to offload their junk on a newbie. Resist this. DONT BUY ANYTHING until you have a good solid mentor or two and you gain some knowledge. This is true in ANY hobby. Good luck to you. This x1,000. Just like any other hobby there are a million options but telescopes are a whole 'nuther animal. I started out with a Sky-Watcher 4" Pro ED refractor based on recommendations from a local club. It is on a manual Alt-Az mount and I use a cell phone app to help me find things to look at. (really don't even need the app for most planets though)Re: electric PU that can tow 11,000lbsOnce again we have the least important number being touted by a manufacturer, nothing but brainless marketing trying to impress with BS. This truck will not be able to pull a travel trailer across the USA regardless of what its tow capacity is, FWIW, this is a brand new company staffed with entry level, low paid engineers from local colleges building something no one is even asking for, prolly not going to end too well.
