I’m plugged into 50 amp shore power at home. Being plugged in to 50 amp shore power won't solve a low 12 volt issue caused by low batteries. If your slide is powered by 12 volt motors, they rely on extra amps provided by your house batteries. How old are your batteries? I would say about 4-5 years old. I have 2 6-volt golf cart batteries in parallel. No other slides (2 others) are affected by this. I don’t think it’s a power issue. I’m still leaning toward a controller problem. Have some more troubleshooting to do. I just had the whole rack replaced last year due to extreme binding and stripped gears. It was doing this even before that repair. I may just have to bring it back for service once again.Re: Main slide issue on one side MFL wrote: Not sure what RV you have, but the breakers I speak of are auto resetting. I have two, just inside my basement wall of my FW, maybe 2-3' from battery box. One is for large slide, other is for landing gear. I have a Jayco Eagle 5th wheel. Thanks I will look for something like that once I get a warmer day again.Re: Main slide issue on one side IB853347201 wrote: Sounds like a low 12V voltage problem. How old are your batteries? I can’t see it being a heat thing since it’s only moving a few inches from a complete cold start and 40 degrees outside. I can’t see heat forming that much in the few seconds it runs before stopping. I’m wondering if maybe the controller is failing.Main slide issue on one sideHi all, I'm having issues with my main super slide. When bringing the slide back in it's as if one of the motors loses power or the communication signal is lost. So the one side just stops. I then release the button (this happens regardless if I'm using the manual switch or the button on the remote control) and extend it back out fully with no problem. I then bring it in and same thing happens on the same motor every time. I have gotten around this by pressing the button for about 3 seconds at a time bringing the slide in incrementally then releasing the button. I repeat this until the slide is in. This obviously takes a long time and is not ideal. But the motor doesn't lose power for those 3 second intervals. Only when I keep the button pressed down does the motor seem to lose power and stop. This causes the slide to start getting out of time so I have to extend it back out all the way again to start over again. And the motor doesn't ever seem to lose power when the slide is extending out. Only when coming in. What is going on here? Thank you for any suggestions, ChrisRe: Towing Information robwhite61 wrote: 1ofmany wrote: One "issue" you might experience is that backing fifth wheels is different than backing a conventional trailer. With practice and patience, you will soon catch on. And lots of both! :B Explain? How is it different? I will need to know this myself shortly. Everything I read is that it's easier to tow and easier to maneuver.Re: Towing InformationWell I have the 2015 of that exact truck and in my opinion you're fine. I'll be pulling an 11k loaded fifth in a few weeks and I'm not worried.Re: Need a trailer recommendation STEVEO496 wrote: I'm like you, I like the rear living room floor plans and also the idea of a toy hauler. Since you already have an 8' bed I would also consider a 5th wheel, easier to tow, more head room (especially in the shower) and generally as short or shorter overall than a travel trailer. Yeah, I've been thinking of going that route as well. I'm going this weekend to take a look at some Keystone models as their 5ers are on the lighter side then say the Jaycos. I just have to be more mindful of my weight calculations. Those pups start getting heavy real quick.Re: Need a trailer recommendation STEVEO496 wrote: Is your truck long or short bed? Crew cab with 8 foot bed. I currently have a 2011 Jayco Eagle Superlight 28BHS but darn kids have never slept in the bunks. Go figure! They end up on the couch and dinette converted to a double bed. I'm just done with the bunks. I suppose they like falling asleep within eyeshot of the TV.Need a trailer recommendationHello all, First off I have a family of 5. Myself, my wife and 3 kids, ages 9,11 and 12. I need to be able to sleep all of us comfortably but at the same time I don't want to base my purchase decision on having the kids with us forever. When they get a bit older it's hard to imagine they'll want to come camping with the parents all the time. So I probably have a good 4-7 years? The wife and I would love to have a rear living room but I really have yet to find a model like this that will be able to sleep all of us. We do not want to go with the bunk house units as they really cramp up the usable living space and make for a pretty dark interior. We love the rear living room because it lets in so much light and gives great views with all the large windows. At this point I'm ready to just throw down an air mattress for the little buggers. I tow with a 2015 Silverado 2500HD 6.0 with 4.10 gearing. Payload is 3070. Rated to tow a max of 13k trailer or 13.8k 5er. Based on this information is there anything out there that would fit the bill for us? Thanks all, Chris
