We just crossed at Lukeville (departed Sunday from Cottonwood AZ)on Monday the 7th of December. Great trip so far, took only about 25 minutes to get our Passport Stamped at Sonoita and about an hour & half down MEX 8 to Puerto Penasco and the Playa Bonita RV Resort. Gas (Diesel) was cheapest at AJO, but not by much. Over all, great experience so far. We're staying for a couple of months, lots to do! Thanks Bill and All that have commented. I think I'll advertise the SK-1000 and save up some cash for a SK-AWM3. In the interim I'll use the DirecTV Slimline antenna I got from my neighbors house (he had just changed providers and didn't want it on the roof)and a tripod to "get by". So, additional info from "the web". It seems that while you can convert from SK-1000 (Dish / Bell TV) to roughly a SK-3003 (DirecTV Triple Feed)it doesn't get you to the SK-SWM3 (DirecTV Auto Multi-Sat) configuration I'm looking for. The SK-SWM3 uses a larger reflector (oval dish) and the mechanism isn't up to the task. Winegard Tech service was already closed for the day, so I'll visit with them in the morning. If I though the used SK-1000 (Dish Unit) would sell, I'd sell it and buy a new DirecTV unit. Hello, New to the RV world and this Site. Our new to us Fleetwood Turbo Bounder (2007) came with a newly installed Winegard SK-1000 Dish antenna. I would rather stay with our DirecTV provider and have investigated the idea of changing out the Interface Box, Slimeline dish and LNB on the SK-1000. Maybe even the interface Box might have a removable/re-programmable chip set that would look for the DirecTV satellite rather than the Dish satellites. In the near term I have a tri-pod & DirecTV dish for reception until I can sort out the rest of this more elegant solution. Thanks for any suggestions, John4.8KViews0likes7Comments
