They are giving me all the coax to hook everything up. I am going to install the HR44 in the storage compartment, the bridge on the opposite side of same compartment, and the genie mini's would be about 7-8 feet from the wireless bridge. I realize to aim the dish I will have to hard wire from the HR44 to a TV with a HDMI cable which is no biggie.Re: Directv equipment, questions and where to purchase.Well, you cannot get the equipment from Directv. You must get it through an authorized retailer. I will be picking up the equipment on Thursday next week and probably installing it Friday.Re: Directv equipment, questions and where to purchase.donno, are you saying that I would need a Genie, a wirless mini, and a regular mini (3 components)? Is the new SWM system that much harder to aim than the old systems? Buying coax, a good crimper and connectors isn't a big deal.Directv equipment, questions and where to purchase.Long story short, set up account on Wednesday, installer shows up yesterday and says, sorry we don't do installs on RV's anymore. Call Winegard, get the runaround from a woman who cannot spell or is hearing impaired or both, after 30 mints on the phone, she says I need to cancel my account that I had signed up for on Wednesday. If it wasn't for Sunday Ticket, I would probably have went Dish by now, ok rant off. 2 questions now. 1.) Who can I order the equipment from and just install it myself? 2.) What all do I need to run an HR44 for 2 TVs in my RV and be able to watch 2 different programs on 2 different TV's. I.E. Wife watching a DVR program, or live TV on 1 TV and me watching a football game on the other? I am stationary for the next several months until we purchase a house, but would like to use this in the future for when we go camping, I.E. portable and fairly quick to set up.Re: Complete List of Toy HaulersSaw one of these at Wal-Mart the other day. Full House by DRV http://drvfullhouse.com/Re: Air Conditioner leakYep, kiddie pool on the bed, no worries about flooding the mattress that way. Coils were not dirty, or I would have washed them. I didn't think about the furnace fan and soap, but I will next time, thanks for the tip.Air Conditioner leakJust wanted to post my fix. My Bedroom AC began to leak only when raining, weather the AC was on or just the fan was on. It didnt leak when the unit was off, even in a sideways 45mph rain/windstorm, which really had me baffled. I searched this forum as well as the entire web and came up with tightening the gaskets, or that the drip pan was cracked. It is an Airxcel 49000 series non ducted. I checked the tightness of the hold down bolts and inspected the gaskets. Still leaked, some had suggested that dirty air filters would also cause this. Cleaned them, no avail still leaked. Finally the rain quit here and I was able to get up on the roof and look at where I though the leak was coming from. The base pan of a 49000 is metal, not plastic, so no issues with cracking there. I also inspected my drain holes, and made sure those were clean. You really cannot see the drip pan without disassembling the entire unit, but no rain really gets through to the a-coil. My RV parts guy said it sounded like the unit has some tape fail somewhere on a seam letting water in. If you really want to be sure and leak check get a $10 kiddie pool from wal-mart or the dollar store, it made it easy and mess free. I taped what was the most obvious and leak checked with a water hose. Still leaked. I then removed the condenser (you have enough slack to get it out of the way, one side at a time) and removed all the old foil tape and re-taped the entire unit, re- assembled and then leak checked for over 10 minutes with a garden hose on full blast, leak fixed.Re: Generator / Carb Part description or number? You are referring to the anti-backfire solenoid. Just remove it and cut the needle off with a pair of dikes, the solenoid is around $70.Re: WarrantyI am all in on warranty, Main AC unit failure, Convertor failure, Fuel Pump failure on the generator, all zero cost to me (my dealer waives the $50 fee for using their service department) As stated, the MFG does not control quality of components installed. I will never purchase an RV again without one.Re: built in generatorsX14 on the Genturi, too many issues with cheap CO detectors. Onan 5500 built in is the only way to go IMHO. I know there are a ton of posts on this board about Onan carb issues. For piece of mind, I suggest using the Blue Marine Stabil at the recommended dose as well as a splash of your favorite fuel injection system cleaner. A ton of people swear by sea foam, but I like Chevron Techron and have fixed quite a few dirty carb issues with it. Use a good 15W40 diesel oil and change it and the filter every 100 hours and you will have little trouble out of the unit. When I traded my old TH in the genset had 800 hours on it and all I ever did was change oil and filters. I have over 400 hours on our current Onan 5500 and other than the fuel pump that failed shortly after delivery of the unit, zero problems since. I always use super unleaded as that is what I run in all my small engines.
