I will check with the service mgr to see if this is what they used - I will have to bring the camper back in for winterizing next month, so hopefully they can prepare it better.Re-attaching rubber moulding on outside of vanHello - I now have another problem. I brought my 2004 Roadtrek in to my dealer and had them re-attach the two rubber moulding strips which cover the screws that attach the lower panels to the outside of the van. That was 2 days ago and already it is starting to come loose. This cost me $90 and the dealer used 3M double-sided sticky tape for the job. I called the dealer and they told me that is the only thing they have to use for this repair! Since this van is 10 years old, I am sure the manufacturer used something very strong and not merely double-sided sticky tape. Can anyone help me?Re: sticky tape residue and macerator for 2004 RoadtrekDear candlback - Thanks for your help on the macerator. Would it be possible to take a couple of pictures of the system? Can you share how much it cost? I know I can't empty the tanks alone (my husband died nearly 2 years ago) because of my knee replacements and I will have to sell the RT if I can't figure out how to do that. Thank you so much.sticky tape residue and macerator for 2004 RoadtrekHello - I had to duct tape the rubber strip on my B and just had it fixed. They couldn't get all the residue off. Any suggestions? Also has any one had luck in installing a macerator on a 2004 Roadtrek? As a widow, I can't get down on my knee replacements to empty the tanks and put the hose back in. :( Thanks.Re: Sewer SolutionMore problems! I just tried the connection on my Roadtrek and even though I sprayed both the sewer hose and the SS with WD40, I could hardly get it on. Getting it off was almost impossible and the whole "end" of the hose came off with it! I could then disconnect the stinky slinky, but now I'm not sure it's "waterproof" after shoving it back on the sewer hose. This hose was replaced a couple of years ago at the dealership - could they have used an end that was just a little too large? It is held on with a clamp. Could I get a slightly smaller end on the sewer hose that would fit correctly to the Sewer Solution? I could take the camper back to the dealership if so. Anyone else have this problem?Re: Sewer SolutionI received my new Sewer Solution kit and was looking in stores yesterday for a second backflow preventer like the one that came with my SS. I couldn't find one. I've been searching the internet for the person who used two as insurance against preventing contamination, but once again could not find that person. Do any of you know where I can purchase another connection like this to prevent contaminating my fresh water at my house if I need to dump tanks at home (in the basement.) Should I contact a plumber? Should I be worried? I am going out this weekend to try the SS. Keep your fingers crossed for me! :) (I'll be using a state park dump which has a NON-POTABLE water supply with a threaded end on the hose.) Thanks.Re: Sewer SolutionI have purchased a Sewer Solution, but am worrying a bit about contaminating my fresh water supply when using it as suggested by some reviewers. Could someone tell me how this would happen when they are two completely different systems on a Roadtrek? How could back flushing to clean out the holding tanks contaminate my fresh water? (I would not ever consider using the potable water supply for any of this.) Thanks a lot.Re: Sewer SolutionSince I usually camp at a state park just 25 miles away and am retired, I go midweek when there aren't many camping and dumping. I don't see much problem with dumping and holding anyone up when using the SS. I could use a second back flow preventer at the pipe as suggested. Plus, if there is a line waiting to dump, I would just go home and dump the camper there. Since I am not only a widow, but have also had a knee replacement, using the drain as it came on the 2004 Roadtrek would be extremely difficult and I can't afford an installed macerator. The SS would be a simple and inexpensive "solution" to my continued camping. I don't think I can continue camping with the Roadtrek as it is now.Re: Sewer SolutionI agree!! :) JeanRe: Sewer SolutionTo daveydd: As I said in a former post, I would be sure that there is no one waiting for me to do this procedure - dump in the morning when no one is around waiting. My husband always had a terrible time getting the last stuff out of the hose - milk, milk, milk to get it all out so the cotter pin could be engaged, and I certainly don't want to do that (especially with a knee replacement) - it always took a long time with the stinky slinky, plus it was really messy. If all else fails, I can do this at home in my basement, but I hope to do some traveling, so need an economical way to dump my tanks. This is a reasonable solution.
