The back axle needs most of the weight of the trailer added to it, not the front axle. At this point I'd weigh the rig to see your axle weights and if the teeter tottering is gone. it was very hard to set chains, even when i raised trailer with jack.. is this normal? they have a ton of force on them. thanksRe: please help with wd hitch Big Love wrote: Measure the height of the hitch ball receiver when the trailer is unhooked, on level ground, and leveled. Start by putting the hitch ball at that height. The hitch arms should be parallel to the tongue. There should be a way to adjust the angle at which the arms enter the hitch, which is how you adjust the weight distribution, along with adjusting the chain length. thanks for all that info,, there is where im at now. i had 6 washers. now added 9(as seen in pics) the bars on the 7th chain link. and also are very tight. tightened bolt to tighten washers up against shank also. this brought rear of truck up 1 inch only. front didnt change much. i am wondering if i need the next step up curt wd hitch? thanks again for any help. Re: please help with wd hitchi think you found the problem, thanks, i set up the top of hicth and ball flat. never thought to angle it down. been towing for years teeter tottering down the freeway like a fool. i will post again once i mess with it tommorowplease help with wd hitchthis is what happens to my hitch everytime i tow, teeter tottering down the freeway. the truck will lower 2inches in rear when all weight on ball as seen in pics. bars are bent up too much i know. can only get truck rear to raise 1 inch after getting chains tight. its a 10000k wd hitch. do i need to adjust ball height? i have no clue what to do, thanks for any help.
