Our trailer loaded is around 6400. Payload is a drag you have to be very careful when loading we try to put all that we can in the trailer to help in this area. Truck pulls and stops the trailer with no issues but it is at the limit of the truck so I have no extra capacity in the event I want to put throw something in to bring back home.Re: Would air bags help any?I have noticed the same problem at times and I adjusted my WDH and it improved but didn't go away. With the load changing in your trailer you may want to change your hitch setup to account for the change in weight. I have a reese dual cam so it's not to hard to adjust.Re: Trying to find weight of TTDid you look on the inside of the door or the inside of a cabinet door for a sticker?Re: The results of a huge day of searching. Opinions welcome!Electric tounge jack a must, makes things sooooo much easier. You can never have to much storage. We have a Whitehawk and if I were to say there was something I didn't like about it, it would be the space around the bed, barely enough to stand in. Now I know most of these set ups are the same and there isn't much to be done about it but, it is something to look at. How much room around the bed and how easy is to make the bed. On a positive note we do like the divider with the swivel TV between the bedroom and the rest of the trailer, makes for a great movie night.Re: What do you tow with?MargaretB Have you guys ever towed anything before? Pop up, car trailer anything? Forums are great because you can get a lot of good information and forums are bad because you can get a lot of information that can be confusing. What determines a travel trailer to be large is very subjective and everyone will have a different opinion. We pulled a 13 ft pop-up for years, that's small. Now we pull a Whitehawk (28DSBH, 32ft bumper to hitch), to me, that's big and I was very nervous about buying it because of the size. We traveled about 4000 miles this summer and it has taken most of that time for me to begin to feel confidant towing it and getting it in and out of places. If you haven't done much towing you might really think about going used on everthing to make sure you will be comfortable towing, it will help you get a feel for it without as much monetary risk. If you go new and hate it or if you go to big and hate it, well it's gonna cost you. If you are set on that trailer you need to check the dry weight on the yellow sticker not the published dry weight (they will be different) and you are going to be in a 1/2 ton truck no matter what you friend says. Check actual weights, don't go by published weights.Re: Help with new tow vehicleWith a standard 150 you will run out of payload fast. I have a 2013 F150 and I am running at or just over my payload, it pulls our trailer (6000 lb dry weight) just fine but I am having to be very careful how I load. Because we like Ford's supercrew so much we will be sticking with a 150 but the next truck will be a 150 with with the HD package on it to get the additional payload.Re: GM Admits Fudging Payload RatingsI purchased a TT this year and the catalog had a TT dry weight of 5400 lbs the actual dry weight on the yellow sticker was 6000 lbs. . I guess the tactic is everywhere. On top of that in our competitive culture bragging rights are everything. Anyone out there like sports.Re: 2011 Ford V8/5.0 TT Package 3.73 31ft Cougar lite 7800 maxWe pull a new jayco white hawk with our 150. Trailer weighs in at around 6500 loaded and it pulls it without any issues. It has a taken a little while to get the WDH dialed in but it pulls great. Don'tt get me wrong you know it's there and we don't get in a hurry to go anywhere but starting and stopping is no problem.Re: swayingHave you ever weighed your rig? It took me a couple of trips to the scal to get my WDH setup properly. Without weighing it there is no way to be sure the WDH is set up correctly.
