All ActivityMost RecentMost LikesSolutionsRe: Outside faucet only hot tap worksProblem solved. I got in behind the access and took the faucet off completely. I then ran the pump to be sure there wasn't a blockage or kink in the line somewhere and it was find. The faucet was the problem. If you turn the faucet around and look into the line from the back, there is a small spring value. For some reason the spring valve was no longer seated properly. I'm guessing it was most likely due to the winter storage and some ice pushing it out of place. Once I pushed it back in to where it was supposed to sit and reassembled the faucet it worked great. On a side note, as part of this process I found the direct line with a shutoff valve for winterizing the trailer. I wrongly assumed that would be at the pump and could never find it so I was winterizing the old fashioned way. (pouring a little into the tank). I won't have to do that any longer.Re: Cable, Air, switchWell I finally found the manual for this setup online. My trailer is a 2010 tracer 3000 bhd. I have checked the fuse and it's not burnt out. So that leaves me with the other suggestions of checking the ground, and power going into the switch. I've attached a url to the manual of what it looks like and it explains what it's supposed to do. Mine has never worked, so I have some trouble shooting to do. Switch manual (my unit has fig. 9 setup) I'll start with the ground and power, then move on to the coaxel cable to be sure it's hooked up properly (which I don't think should affect the power to the switch) and finally I'll replace the switch. Of course the cable on the back are soldered to it and the are really short for some reason so I can't pull it out that much. Thanks for all the info, I'll keep you posted as to the result.Re: Cable, Air, switchWell good to know. I guess that means mine needs to be replaced since the light never comes on. I don't see a manual switch on this one besides the toggle switch. This might explain why I have such horrible reception. If I'm not parked in my driveway, the reception is so bad on this thing I can't get a signal. Yet my truck gets reception no problem and the same with other trailers that we are camping with. It's frustrating not to get simple radio. I don't suppose you know the technical name of these? Thanks!Cable, Air, switchHi, Since I'm looking for answers and you guys are so helpful maybe you can me out once more. In the cupboard above the TV there is a booster switch of some kind. There is a fuse in it, and there is a switch that goes can be toggled from cable, to air or to off. There is a power light on it which never has come on and I didn't know what it was for and wrongly assumed it would work if I was hooked up to something else. What are these things for? And if the power light doesn't come on I'm guessing it's cooked. (the fuse is fine) Thanks.Re: Outside faucet only hot tap worksYa, mine is a Prime Tracer 3000 so the same manufacturer. Your probably right, something wrong with the faucet. Well, I'm sure they are very similar. To get to mine, I have to go into the storage under the bed. Then there is a wall panel that you can take off to gain access to the lines. I'll rip that apart then and let you know what I find.Re: Outside faucet only hot tap worksI did take apart the tap. So, what I mean by that is I took the handle off and behind that I took out the assembly that controls the water flow. Still no water coming out of the cold tap. If I look down the hole of the tap, there looks to be a small hex nut in the line about 1.5" down which is still part of the tap. I thought maybe that is the faulty part but I don't know for certain.Re: Outside faucet only hot tap worksThanks for the replies. There is no shutoff valve that could be causing it. I will try disconnecting the supply line next. It's a plain in the back side to get to it. Fun stuff. If there is water at the supply line then it's a faucet replacement, if there is not. Then what?Outside faucet only hot tap worksThis is pretty odd. The outside tap on my Tracer 3000bhd (forest river brand) only has the hot tap working. I took apart the faucet and still the hot water tap when I turn on the pump works. No cold water at all. There is a hex nut in behind the faucet assembly down in the collar a ways but I don't know if that would make a difference. It worked fine last year and if I have the hot tap turned off and the cold tap still without the assembly the pump kicks off. So it's not a burst line, I can't see any water anywhere and if it was broke the pump would run. I looked under the bed and lifted the storage area to see the line and it looks fine. Do I need to pull out that hex nut? Is it a valve back there that could be stuck? I'm at a loss. Thanks.Re: Got our first trailer, now the fun beginsthanks, could you narrow that down for me, Bass Pro will return a mountain of links.Re: Got our first trailer, now the fun begins sausageking wrote: For the outside sink I mounted a kitchen tap to the top of a "Rubber Made" type container, mounted ball valves to the hot and cold water low point drains, cut an old fresh water hose in half and hooked them to the tap and ball valves. The sinks are two plastic wash tubs and I pour the dish water down the sewer hookup in the ground. I got this idea on this forum under do it yourself mods and it works great. As for the grill I prefer my Weber Q as apposed to the cheap grills that came with the trailer. The grill goes on a small plastic table with my Coleman stove, a ten pound propane tank with a distribution tree and hoses with a lantern on top makes for a great cook station. hmm, sounds like what I'm looking to do. Do have a link to the DYI article?
