In my haste and focus on the issue at hand, I completely overlooked how the spare tire is attached to the bracket on the bumper. It's your typical mount, hoping someone has picture properly installed. THIS is essentially the mount I have. There's a rectangular bracket that is used as the bolts don't match the pattern of the wheel. Thanks!Re: Significant hiatus but I'm back!Appreciate the feedback. I’ve heard great things about the Equalizer but have also read that its pretty loud. I’ll look into the Blue Ox, any quieter?Re: Best Weight Distribution HitchCurious about awkward angle unhooking. Is it difficult with the Equalizer or is essentially the same challenge with all WD hitches?Significant hiatus but I'm back!Hey everyone, I can't believe I'm back! This forum has been an incredible resource for me over the years, dating back to 2005 when my wife and I bought our first RV! Since then we've moved from a TT to a toy hauler, back to a TT that we just sold (hopefully) this weekend. I would have sworn we were out of the game last year with most of our extra time being spent on our acreage; we really started to enjoy it last year and got to thinking, why drag a trailer around when we have a campground in our back yard? Well, the bug hit us hard again this year. In the matter of 3 days the F-150 is being enjoyed by a new owner, we have someone coming this weekend to hopefully take our existing 28 ft TT, and all going well the new F-250 is picked up Saturday just in time to take a trip a couple of provinces over to pick up our new unit! So, all of the research that comes with these big purchases is complete. Or at least I thought it was. I completely forgot about the hitch setup. I've done a little searching and I know that there are most likely, numerous threads on the very topic but selfishly, I wanted the excuse to re-introduce myself :) So, any advice or direction you can provide on a distribution/sway setup would be greatly appreciated. The truck is a 2020 F-250 and the trailer is the Grand Design Imagine 2970RL TT. Before you say it, I know that Henley is the hitch of hitches but I'm not ready to dump that kind of money, yet. That will buy me a lot of solar energy! Thanks in advance! Is this oxidation?Hi everyone, looking for some guidance. I've owned my cruiser for 2 years now, covered but outdoors during the winter months. This year I noticed significant discolouration on the top of the front cap covering from the roof down a foot, the entire width of the unit. Is this oxidation? I went at it with Mcquires oxidation polish and it seemed to help but only slightly. I have a powered polisher that I'm willing to give a try but if it's the paint my efforts will be wasted. I've never owned an RV that wasn't white so this is new to me. Appreciate the input. https://imgur.com/a/gTgo4Re: Tire challenge - 15"I am definitely going the Bridgestone route; I am convinced. I just need to ensure that I have all of my info correct because I have to order them and have them shipped from the U.S. So I have the tire size down; 225/75R15 and am looking for just a touch of advice on the wheel. I have it measured out so matching hub and lugs should not be an issue. I'm a little unsure about the Center cap of all things. I know with the existing wheels the cap is more of a tube presumably to account for the hub itself. Knowing most wheels come with a flat plate to cover the hub I'm not sure if I need a specific wheel.Re: Tire challenge - 15"Excellent, thank you.Re: Tire challenge - 15"Apologies for the delay guys; here I am asking for assistance and haven't been engaged in the conversation. Jimnlin, wow you are right, I didn't provide much for details. The tires on the unit now are 225/75/15, gross weight of the trailer is 15,500. I don't know the actual weight rating of the axles but there are 3 and one can assume they are at least 5,000. I was out measuring this weekend and here is my dilemma; I believe the existing tires are 28.2" in diameter; finding specs on a Carlisle isn't easy. The Duravis R250 225/75/16 with a weight rating of 2,680 are 29.4". This means an additional 2" required between tires. There is currently 4". How much space is required for expansion and articulation of the suspension; would 2" be enough?Re: Tire challenge - 15"Hey everybody, I'm digging up an old thread of mine as I'm finally ready to buy. Intent was to replace the tires last fall but winter came quick and ended up waiting. Looks like the XPS is an extremely tough tire to find. I can however; source the Bridgestone R250 and was sure that was the way I was going until I called to place the order. The guy I was chatting with was cautioning me stating that a sidewall in a radial is designed to flex hence the much lower load index to that of a trailer tire; he threw out Maxxis as the trailer favorite. Just need to hear some reassurance from the experts here. My reason for the investment is due to a blow-out last year; I do not want to go through that again.Re: Tire challenge - 15"Well, looks like I have some close measuring to do. Moving from a 225/75/15 ST to an LT would require a jump to a 235/85 and 3" diameter per tire. Leaving a safe gap of 2" between each tire means a required current gap of 5". Not sure I have that much room. Trailers out at the lake, will have to make a measurement trip. Anyone with an 07' Raptor who has make the move to 16"? Just my luck, they moved to 16's in 08'.
