I have a 2011 Ford F150....3.5 Eco-boost (Around 365 HP if I recall). It has a 3.15 rear end and factory installed Max towing package. It's rated at 8,600 max towing capacity. Thoughts? This is exactly where I'm at.Re: Need help choosing a TT my truck will pull EstorilM wrote: I just did a similar search and finally found a great floorplan in the Springdale 2470RL. Not exactly high-end, but it was my first TT and the GF and I have been doing a lot of traveling for work lately (event / PR photography at east coast horse shows). BTW having trouble finding the 2470RL detailsRe: Need help choosing a TT my truck will pullThanks for these suggestions all! I myself would prefer going smaller as in the Camplite but will have a hard time selling that to my wife who is used to the 37' Class A. I'm really trying to stay in the 27'-30' range. Having had the MH for 10 years we experienced a few features that we would like to have. Street side slideout a must, a curbside slideout takes up all of your outside space under the awning. Wife wants no entry door in the bedroom. Free standing table/chairs preferred and need the 80" bed. I'm on floorplan overload right now as I've been looking way too much. I knew it would be tough getting as many of our want list in the same unit. I'll probably step back for a bit as we are in no rush. The RV show comes to town in a month :)Re: Need help choosing a TT my truck will pullYes we ran the MH ACs that way, one at a time. Wife likes to be cold especially when sleeping but I'm sure 1 ducted AC unit in a new TT would cool the same as the 14 year old units we had.Re: Need help choosing a TT my truck will pullI agree, need to make my wife understand that.. Our MH was 50A but we rarely needed to run both at the same time.Re: Need help choosing a TT my truck will pullI do see many at 6000# but looking for a specific floorplan will cut that down. No bunks, dual ACs, no entry door into bedroom. Are dual AC units on TTs not common? My wife is set on 2 as we had in our MH.Re: Need help choosing a TT my truck will pullChecked out the VINcoder. Nice info. I did download the Ford tech specs for my year that take into consideration the options of rear gear ratios and engines.Re: Need help choosing a TT my truck will pullGotcha normal_dave, thanks. Now the difficult part - find one the wife and I agree on :)Re: Need help choosing a TT my truck will pullConfusion: I've seen some dealers spec out Dry Weight and Unloaded Weight. Some even spec Dry Weight, Hitch.Re: Need help choosing a TT my truck will pullInteresting comparison. I know the truck has decent power as I have pulled a car trailer with a big Pontiac on it, probably around 5500#. No special hitch or brakes, just needed to get it home, ~ 200 miles. I think I have seen enough here to look for a dry weight of 6000#.
