It didn't smell like melting plastic like I've smelled before when we've had an electrical issue at the power box. We had to have that replaced last year. But this smelled...weird, not like freon though. Like...metallic smelling. That air conditioner runs 24/7 and has been for months. So, maybe we killed it. I figure it's probably going to need to be replaced though & not something that a single part will fix. But I have no idea. I will call tomorrow to try to get someone out here to look at it, but who knows how long it'll take them to get someone out here as I live in Houston and I'm sure they're super busy.Re: Which style of AC do I have? Not unusual on hot summer days to have low voltage which is not a A/C friend. Have you been checking the AC voltage? Ok, I'll have to wait so I can do that as my husbands asleep right now and don't want to disturb him since he has to work tomorrow. The one in my living room seems to be running just fine. It's the bedroom that's the problem. Idk if that information makes a difference or not.Which style of AC do I have?I noticed a smell about an hour ago and realized there was smoke or something coming from our bedroom ac. The ac wasn't one that came on this 5th wheel it was one was had installed when we bought it. There's not a thermostat on the wall for it, it has knobs on it that you turn. I'm going ahead and bracing myself for the fact that the entire thing needs replacing but am not sure which words I should look up to try to get the same style again. "RV air conditioner with knobs" on google isn't helping. Any ideas?Re: Water not working at all through city, but it's on outside. 2chiefsRus wrote: Maybe something like this could help.It sounds like maybe something is may have gotten put down the drain that shouldn't be there. Something that moves when pushed by the snake but that didn't actually clear out. Oh yeah that would be a good idea. We're leaving for TN tomorrow so I'll have to wait until we get up there. But yeah, if it doesn't come unclogged as we travel, I guess that'll be the next step. There doesn't look to be anything in that little town so I'm sure no one there can work on 5th wheel plumbing.Re: Water not working at all through city, but it's on outside. laknox wrote: Tips for kitchen sinks. Scrape plates, pans and utensils into the garbage before washing. Use a spatula or scraper to get them as clean as you can. Use a basin to wash in instead of the sink. Dump the basin into the black tank and only rinse the washed dishes in the sink. Repeat as necessary. PITA, but this helps by 1) keeping stuff out of the smaller kitchen plumbing and the grey tank that can gunk up the works and 2) puts more water in the black tank, which is always a good idea. :B Lyle That really is a good idea. Now to get it unclogged lol.Re: Water not working at all through city, but it's on outside. Johnnybgood wrote: Have you checked the trap under the sink? That would be the first thing I would check. Get a bucket first. Yes, he checked it this morning. You mean the part thats connected to the sink thats like a "u shape"? He went through all of those pipes.Re: Water not working at all through city, but it's on outside. So, we're less concerned with the water issue right now because we can just use the pump in the time being. But the clogged sink is a completely bigger problem. Jeremy took a snake put it down the drain under the sink. He said he felt something give and water flowed. I got home this morning and started cleaning. I washed the dishes, let the sink drain and it was stopped up again. I don't understand what is going on. I'm ready to pull my hair out with this **** 5th wheel. If it weren't for us having so many other financial obligations right now I'd trade this pos in. Water issues, clogged sink, I've had enough. We live in here full time because we travel for his work, so we don't have another choice right now. :(Re: Water not working at all through city, but it's on outside. I have to be out from 930pm until 430am so he's going to do it then so it doesn't disturb me. lol I will definitely let yall know what happens. Thanks again for the suggestions; I've given him the rundown you guys gave me.Re: Water not working at all through city, but it's on outside. bgum wrote: Sounds like you need to turn water valve to city inlet position. Well you better hire someone. It was working yesterday just fine. Wouldn't I have to have switched it from the other for this to have happened if that was what was wrong w/ it?Water not working at all through city, but it's on outside. Our water outside at the spicket. The elbow shaped thing on the outside that hooks the water hose to the 5th wheel isn't clogged. Our inside water (bathroom and kitchen) comes on for about 5 seconds, tapers off, then no water. Soooo, we put water in our holding tank. When the pump is turned on the water works. When the pump is off and the water is turned on, the water that comes through the cold side is hot although not scalding hot. When the pump is turned on it runs cool through the cold side. Additionally our kitchen sink is stopped up and I've put the chemicals to break stuff down in it to no avail. It's been this way for a month or more. It drains but not normally. And the smell is like rotten eggs when it bubbles back up. Right this second though it's not draining at all. We have 3 tanks on this 5th wheel and the kitchen thing is always left open so it's not like we're forgetting to open it. This is very frustrating. I have zero idea where to begin and honestly cannot afford a ton of money to hire someone to work on this stupid thing. Edit: Also I failed to mention in my earlier that the check valve has been deleted, so it's definitely not that.
