All ActivityMost RecentMost LikesSolutionsRe: hitch plates mystery. hitch plates mystery.mystery -- have fifth wheel coachman chapparel, has anybody ever heard of a failure of pin assembly my lower and upper plates have severe gouges in steel, deck is thoroughly lubricated. some of gouges are located on bottom plate at 5 and 7 o'clock position where the 2 pins come up. the 2 pins show very little scuff on them but severe gouges adjoining pin. upper plate is severely gouged, never seen before. anybody have any ideas 16K Pro series hitchRe: battery drain while hooked to shoreLyle, made that mistake one time before so i did know to check that. can't find converter but everything else checks out.Re: battery drain while hooked to shorechecked all circuit breakers and fuses i found, all check out. anyone know where converter is on coachman chapparal 2012 model. owners manual no help. battery was dead again this am.Re: battery drain while hooked to shorei will check fuses in the am thanks.battery drain while hooked to shoreput new battery in a few weeks ago. unit has been parked in yard connectd to shore power. today, no power to let out slides, no landing gears etc. charged battery, back in business. what is wrong?Re: BD3 trailer-saver hitchby the way, this is replacement hitch bought for its anti-chucking properties. no doubt it will stop chucking because jaws are so close tolerance to eliminate chucking. we are not first-time fifth wheelers our 4th fifth wheel one trip being from so. fl. to anchorage and fairbanks ak and back. never encountered this problem. we believe this is unsafe engineering as it stands.Re: BD3 trailer-saver hitchok people one more time, lower plate and upper plate don't come tog ether. entire weight of rv is being carried by the pin. the pin is the pin it is not a weight carrying device. the weight of rv is carried by the plates, the object of the teflon disk is for anti-friction in lieu of grease again, a pin is a pin not a load-carrying device.BD3 trailer-saver hitchi have a question. my hitch, meaning upper and lower plates do not come together. trailer weight is being carried by jaws, which i believe is not proper and is dangerous. have never seen hitch where upper plate does not come in contact with lower plate. comments, pleaseRe: Coachman Chapparel problemsi guess i should have started checking the simple stuff first. a new battery and we are back in business!
