We plan to do 5 more next spring, which will get all the windows fog free.Re: Towing in snow?I agree with Drsteve, around here lots of people out towing when it snows with heavy snowmobile trailers. Drive smooth and careful. Easy on the gas, easy on the brakes. You would think everyone would be used to it her in Alaska, but first big snow there are always lots of ditch divers. Watch out for other vehicles driving too fast, especially 4x4.Re: How to remove rear furnace in MHrear furnace on my tiffin phaeton quit working. the side panel with the heater vent had two screws underneath, then the whole panel lifted right off. i thought i might need a board, but i spent about 10 bucks on a new "sail witch" and now it runs great. there is also a thermo switch that can fail. good luckRe: How to determine vinyl floor backing typefelt backing is like really heavy paper, use armstrong s235 adhesive. this was on most residential vinyl in 2006. vinyl backing will be more like plastic and use s599 adhesive.Re: Bringing a rifle into the USAYou don't need a rifle in Alaska if you are not going hunting. You could get some bear spray in Alaska if you feel you need it.Re: Trip Report! Spring Break 2017 Kodiak Alaska Style!!Very Nice!Re: 2016 Subaru Forester flat towyes, we like towing out subie. we turn our key to the first positions to unlock the steering. I installed a blue ox baseplate and Ready Brute Elite tow bar/ brake.Re: Stupid question I guess...WHOA! Rv power source is NOT the same wiring as a household range! Good advice to look up the correct wiring diagram. 240 volts could fry your electronics. 50 amp RV service is two separate 120v legs. No problem to use adapters and step down to a 15 or 20 amp household plug to charge batteries.Re: taking a dog to AlaskaMost towns have leash laws, which are pretty much ignored. Lots of dogs in Alaska. in addition to proper vet records, my sister had to dump some dog food last year because it was not in the original bag, maybe check the rules on that.Re: Tent ThoughtsWe have taken a tent along a few times for my son and extra kids. It worked out well. I also still tent camp often with the scouts, so I already had the gear. A really nice air mattress and sleeping bag set up is more important than the tent to me. I want the kids ( or whoever) to be comfortable enough to want to go again. We used a 6 man dome tent with cots and pads. Even ran a cord out with a little electric heater on a fall trip. sounds like you are on the right track!
