Like a basic camper with a foldable seat bed and perhaps a cabinet with a refrigerator and small sink. All the real camping would be done from the trailer and the van used for daily driving but could support an overnight or beach day.Sprinter Camper Van Towing TT?I don't see much on here about camper vans and I don't think of camper vans as motorhomes, per se. Anyway, I've been thinking to sell off my Class-C motorhome and acquire/build a short Sprinter camper van for touring and traveling and for towing a mid-sized travel trailer up to 22ft for long camping trips. Does anyone have experience with towing travel trailers with a Sprinter or other camper van? Stories, Opinions and Pictures would be great. Thanks.Re: Class B - B+ Fastpaddler wrote: Hi Bill, Actually I have found that the "old people"--what is old--who go rving are generally the non-grouchy ones. It can be the ones who stay at home and grumble about what is wrong with the world and why their situation is so bad. But, I wouldn't want to generalize because given the history of person-kind I am pretty old at just over 3 score and ten. Cheers Fair enough. As it is I am probably older than you. I should have said feeble-minded since these people are fixated on a silly term and can't let it go. It seems to be their new life's mission to patrol the boards and make sure no one gets out of line. I can see them now, grumbling in their robes, blood vessels popping because someone on the Internet is wrong. Sigh...Re: Class B - B+Actually you guys made up the free-for-all concept and somehow try to attribute it to me. I suggested no such thing.Re: Class B - B+Old people with too much time and grouchy attitudes... People will call things what they want to. It's not a religion, it's just campers.Re: 24 - 26 Foot Class C Comparable to "Coach House"?You might look into LAZY DAZE. They are very well built. Look at a 20 year old one to see how well they hold up. Lazy Daze owners are very loyal and for good reason. It would be worth your time to look before making your decision.Re: Why a small class C ? 2dogtravellin wrote: ... We are now the happy owners of a 24ft Lazy Daze class C with twin couches in the back.... That's what we have. But for our year (1991) they used a Chevrolet chassis with the shorter cab, same house, at 22ft. We took it to the beach for July Fourth and backed it up to the sand. Those huge windows give us a 270 degre view out the back. Really fun.Re: Winnebago Trend - First Drive ImpressionsI'm waiting for other manufacturers to some out with their versions to see more choices.Re: How long have you had your C?I've had my 22' Lazy Daze on a Chevy G30 for barely 9 months. But it is 23 years old now and in gorgeous shape. We are the third owner. The first owner kept it 8 years for 120,000 miles. The second owner kept it alongside his house for 14 years and barely put on 12,000 miles. Both took immaculate care and didn't change a thing besides adding solar panels round about 1996. We will be replacing the carpet for vinyl or wood floors and I've added a flat screen 12v tv where there was none before. I don't know how long we will have it but it's certainly not ready for retirement for many years yet.Re: Winnebago Trend - First Drive ImpressionsI have to say my 1991 22ft Lazy Daze on a Chevy G30 rides smooth as silk. It doesn't rock or pitch at all. It has a low floor design and I think that helps.
