I'm very pleased with his work.Re: Nissan and cummins.I had a first gen Titan (first truck ever). I was ignorant and I loved that truck to death. Still miss it. Even through its issues mostly squeaky cheap interior and constantly failing rear axle seals. I'm new proud fan of Cummins engines as I now have a 1-ton 6.7 Cummins SRW. I was secretly hoping for a great looking 2nd gen Titan to carry the 5L Cummins. But man that thing is hideous! I always liked the Tundra aesthetics and hope they can put a better face on this powertrain.Re: Upgrading to 18" truck tiresI have a 2012 Ram 3500 SWR. Upgraded to 295/70-18. 3.73 rear end. No issues here. Re: lifting camperI was in same boat as you a few months ago and went with the Sub-frame build over the Correct Track. I thought I only need 2 inches but I was way wrong. My fab guy said I needed 6 inches and I am glad I trusted his judgment. I asked him to put extra holes in the new shackles for additional adjust too. It worked out great. Cost me $750 and I was more than happy to pay that after I got a quote for the Correct Track installed at over $1000. I also upgraded from 15" ST tires to 16" LT tires which gained me another one inch in height. Here was my thread on upgrading tires and adding the sub frame. http://www.rv.net/forum/index.cfm/fuseaction/thread/tid/28055166.cfm Re: Raising a 5erI did a 6" sub-frame lift. I love it. With the suggestion of members here I had my fabricator add extra holes in the new shackles too in case I ever needed further adjustment. http://www.rv.net/forum/index.cfm/fuseaction/thread/tid/28055166.cfmRe: 16" LT tires now a subframe lift? UPDATE Subframe complete!Just wanted to add this last pic I took this afternoon. I measure it from the ground to the undercarriage at the front and back and it's off and inch sloping to the rear bumper. Re: Is Hitching a Fiver Easier?I say it is easier hitching and unhitching a TT. My truck with a Pullrite Superglide 5'er hitch needs to be almost straight with the 5'er and have it at its perfect height in order to hitch. I also have no camera to help like I did with the TT. I have a crew cab so its hard to see hitch. I also find backing with the TT was easier. Towing with a 5'er is a whole different ball game though. Feels much more stable.Re: 16" LT tires now a subframe lift? UPDATE Subframe complete!Yea I'm definitely going to need some blocks for the stabilizers. Or maybe another pack of leveling blocks. I already bent my bumper mounted spare tire coming off a driveway on a dump. I think it should be all good now.Re: 16" LT tires now a subframe lift? UPDATE Subframe complete! This carriage assembly has the required strength within it's shelf, and relives the I-Beams from a lot of the forces. Looks like they did nice work. Cost? $750.Re: 16" LT tires now a subframe lift? I don't have a belly cover because this is a economy (aka low end) entry level trailer. Not a whole lot of bells and whistles in my rig. Still lover her though.
