Virginia City is a " live ghost town". There are open shops, saloons and theaters. The people working are all dressed in time period cloths. Lots to do and see. Rambling Moose campground is a great camp right up the road. Nevada City is about a mile down the road from Virginia City. This is a walk through town with many restored buildings with time period furnishings. Quite a few local folks available offering great information and entertainment. Bannack is a rather large ghost town. This town looks like life just stopped one day and everybody left. When we visited it was spooky quiet. There is a state park campground just outside the town too. All these towns have plenty of close parking for your RV. We were limited to what we could visit and had to do some research because we didn't have a toad that could handle the roads leading to the towns.Re: How to remove chair with no access to bolt heads underneath?Good suggestions. How about retightening the nut. Then drill and tap a hole in the center of the bolt. The screw head must be small enough for the nut to pass over it. Then make an eye using a length of thin mechanics wire and fasten the loop under the small screw and tighten the screw. Now you can loosen and remove the nut by holding the bolt with a screwdriver as mentioned above. Now let the bolt slide down the hole until it clears the bottom and move it to the side of the hole just far enough so you can fit a very small drill down the hole to the bottom and drill a hole through that. This will give you the location of the hole on the subfloor and once you have that just drill it bigger so you can drop the bolt by using the mechanics wire through the bottom hole. Just be sure you don't drill into the propane tank.Re: Norcold n8x questionGot it. Thanks Doug.Norcold n8x questionI tried to reset this defrost cycle on my fridge. I read that the auto defrost cycle can be reset if I shut the refer, ground power off and disconnect the house batteries at the disconnect switch. My aim is to reset the internal defrost cycle to 0 and keep the thing at the normal cooling range. So after disconnecting all the above I pushed the on pad and it started, on propane, no 110 volt because the ground power is off. Apparently I don't understand the procedure here. Do I have to disconnect the ground at the house batteries, or does the chassis battery supply 12 volt power to this thing. Maybe I misunderstood and have it all wrong. Wouldn't be the fist time!!!Re: Colorado Route 149Great info as usual. ThanksColorado Route 149I'm laying out the second half of our upcoming road trip. We are traveling with our 26 ft Class C with a Ford Fiesta tow. I'm thinking about Route 149 from South Fork to the Lake City bridge. Also, I'm thinking about spending some time around Gunnison. I realize there is a lot to do in that area but there was some road work going on last year and I'm wondering if that is finished.Re: Star Trek Themed TripRoswell UFO festival is out of this world. Star Trek is always a main attraction.Re: Campgrounds along US St 36 in KansasThanks for all the help. Tomorrow I'm going to add them to my map then figure my distances. I only run between 150 to 200 miles per day an see what works. Being retired makes our cross country trips much easier. Again Thanks. DW and I really enjoyed the blog photos. We will be sure to say Hello to Mat and Kitty or you when we visit the Long Branch!!!!Re: Campgrounds along US St 36 in KansasWilson Lake SP and Minooka look good. I can head south on Rt 281 from Rt 36. As for the harvest, I'll make up a plan to work my way south and use roads like Rt 50 or Rt 400. I'm coming from the east so I have a lot of options. Boondocking is always on my table too. The two things I try to avoid are the interstates highways and big cities. We're not in any rush. Have 3 or 4 months planned for this trip. Thanks, as always I appreciate your suggestions.
