I kept it til last year without ever having to reseal. I touched up the caulk a few times over the years as I found a crack here and there but I never found anything that would have let water penetrate. After 7 years, the caulk was filthy but still pliable. Just keep an eye on it and keep it under cover if at all possible.Re: is 2500 +/- each way road trip pratical in 10 days?I did 4300 miles in 12 days but I wouldn't want to do it again. I like to keep moving when we're out west every summer but that particular trip was pretty exhausting. However, southern CO is about 15-17 hours from my house in TX and I drive straight through but once we get there, I slow it down. Multiple 15 hour days gets old fastRe: What unusual location have you parked overnight at?We pulled into an empty parking lot (abandoned motel) in the middle of the night somewhere in Wyoming. Slept for a few hours til 7am when the band suddenly woke us up. Turns out, the local HS marching band used this parking lot for marching practice. I just about jumped through the top vent when the horns started up. We weren't in their way but definitely in the front row for the show.Re: 2015 Dodge 3/4 Ton Really Not Camper Compatible? mkirsch wrote: JacintoKid wrote: d3500ram wrote: 2015 Dodge 3/4 Ton Really Not Camper Compatible? Coil spring systems are far more tunable than the archaic old leaf spring. Just because GM screwed it up on the 67-73 half tons doesn't mean someone can't figure it out. Coil springs are a perfect place to stuff an airbag, for example. Someone already makes an airbag system that fits inside the 1500's coil springs. I stand corrected. Good to know there are options available to enhance the suspension on the Ram 2500 Coils. I looked long and hard at the 1500 ecodiesel back in the summer of 2014 but there weren't any aftermarket upgrades at that time for the 1500 coil springs.Re: 2015 Dodge 3/4 Ton Really Not Camper Compatible? d3500ram wrote: 2015 Dodge 3/4 Ton Really Not Camper Compatible? Thanks for sharingRe: Honda EU2000I generator eichacsj wrote: Mine is less than 50 hours on it. Actually I wish I could sell it, but it would go for $800. Yikes! I paid $850 new for each of mine. They were purchased 6 years apart. The first one from Mayberrys, and the other from Electric Generators Direct. They go on sale periodically, you just have to be patient and check the websites. The newest one was purchased just this past may, no tax, no shipping charges, arrived at my door in 4 days. I checked the websites for about 2 weeks until I saw the sale price. They are currently $ 899 at Electric Generators Direct.Re: Yellowstone, '16One other tip that has been helpful to us: there are NF and private campgrounds outside most of the entrances to the park. We like to drive the park (mostly the Lamar Valley) so, we camped just outside the park at one entrance and then drove back through the park and out another entrance. This kept us from having to double back. Also, the NF (and private) campgrounds outside the park are way less crowded. There are boondocking opportunities outside the park as well. Keep this in mind if you're not able to get a spot inside the campground on a particular night.Re: RAM 2013 or RAM 2010? southernsky wrote: Just a little info here. I have a 2011 which is a none DEF engine. Just spent $1000 to change the EGR filter and clean the EGR system and flush the turbo. The EGR system filter and flush is part of the 60000 mile maintenance program for the truck. But hey...I like my truck... The dealer quoted me the same price for my 07 Ram with the 6.7. I did it myself and it wasn't complicated but it was a pain in the ... But, like you, I loved the truck and had zero problems with the truck. I averaged around 14mpg highway empty and 9-10 mpg loaded with camper. This was at the time when diesel was hovering around $4 per gallon. I sold that truck with 95K on the clock and downsized both my truck and camper. Check the TX and OK market if you're willing to travel, i'm hearing it's flooded with heavy duty trucks at the moment as the oil patch stumbles. Good luckRe: Leaving camper in bed all winter--problem for truck?I left my AF 990 on my 07 Dodge dually for the last 2 years I owned it, no problems. I used it about one or two weekends a month during that time.
