Not my experience. My 12V system goes to 14.6V->14.9V, every day, depending on temperatures. I haven't lost a single LED panel or any individual diode in 6 years. Forum member "sparky" did a test of the early LED offerings and found that all survived at 15V. Not to say that ALL LED replacements can endure the higher voltages but nearly all can. Dave-sparky here. Just saw this and thought I would update. I am still using the same LEDs that I installed at the time of the referenced test reports. I have only had one string of three LEDs fail on one of the 15 panels that were installed. I have been very pleased. Dave here is the link to the earlier post Re: Connecting a CPAP machine to a battery?I have been using a ResiMed unit with the humidifier for about a year now. For our last trip I knew we would be boon docking at least a few nights. So I picked up one of these converters. I had to make up a cord that plugged into the typical automotive connector for the unit, but it ran just fine for several nights. Power usage seemed to be about 20 amp/hrs a night with the humidifier working. My 200 watts of solar brought me back to full power each day without a problem.Re: Where do you put your trash can?We have found that one of the short plastic buckets that dishwasher soap came in would just fit on the shelf in the cabinet under the sink. Safeway plastic bags fit fin also. Just need to empty it every day or it starts to stink a bit. DaveRe: Avalanche for towing? We just got back in January from a 3700 mile trip from Washington, south to Arizona for Christmas and to LA for the Rose Parade, then home. My AVI (rig and trailer in sig) did very well in all of the wet weather and snow we had on the trip. We had no issues but did drink the gas. Just under 10 mpg for the trip. DaveRe: cable routing for solar - vent pipe or drill roof? Clay Smith wrote: Mark, Up on the roof, you remove the vent cap from the grey vent pipe and fish the wire down inside the wall beside the pipe without it ever entering the pipe. If the hole through the roof for the vent pipe isn't large enough for the wire to enter beside it, you may have to remove the entire vent cap form the roof to enlarge the hole. Then reinstall vent cap while sealing it down with some fresh Dicor sealant. This is what I did for mineRe: Gutters! Larry Tried your link in your signature and the system said it was not available. Dave Photobucket was down most of yesterday for maintenance and is up now so links in my sig should be working now. For the awning part what you need is to divert the water from the ends of the rolled up awning away from the sides of the trailer to prevent the black streaks. Larry Yep, pictures are back. I see what you did for the ends of the roller, I am not sure that I have enough room for that, but I will check into it DaveRe: Gutters! On the non door side it has done a good job getting the runoff to drip about 2 inches from the side of the trailer, thus no runs on that side. However, on the awning and door side it would not fit as the awning is mounted to close to the gutter to allow it space to hang down at the needed angle. Unit is in storage, or I would add a photoRe: 2012 Dutchmen Classic 27RLS Low Point DrainsFor my Dutchmen 24 the low point drains are no the floor of the kitchen cabinet under the sink. Good luck Dave
