The Ram has the puck system, currently using a Reese setup: puck adapter, slider and hitch. Like the ability to remove it from the bed in three pieces and store those in the RV when we go out and about.Re: I'm so new I don't even have an RVGood choice in doing your research first then purchasing what you want. The wife and I had agreed that we would eventually retire to full time status and set up a plan of milestones to do exactly that. We have looked at 5ers for the last 15 years, deciding what we liked and didn't like in different brand offerings. Three years ago we decided on a weight limit and purchased a Ram 2500 6.4l Hemi to keep our max. tow weight to under 16,000. This year we found our rig, a Sprinter that has a loaded GVWR of 14,000. Already planned out a second run to get better acquainted with it.Re: Cool Mods - Thread restored 10/18/2012We have been a little slow but we have done a couple of mods and repairs: Hunter Digital thermostat mod. Propane tubing refit: On our Pioneer TT, the propane tubing is directly behind the tires on the drivers side. When the tire does go, the tread has broken away and struck the tubing a couple of times. The tubing is 3/4" refrigeration grade (heavy wall) copper tubing while the piping is 1/2" black iron. What I just finished is to cut into the tubing and install flared couplings. Hopefully, the next time that I watcha tire go away, I'll only have to deal with the loss of a 20" section of tubing versus having to replace an entire tubing run. Found an oak towel pin and installed it on the side of our sink. More to come as I have a digital tv converter to install next...
