In order for the screws to hit material they were put in angled outward leaving the heads not flush. One of these days I need to glue and screw some small blocks of wood to the sides of the hole so the screws can go in straight. How do you replace all the tires on a 5th wheel?I'm looking to replace all the tires on my 5th wheel. While looking at the numerous posts here on trailer tires, one thing I didn't see and began to wonder is, where do you go to or how do you get the tires replaced? If I take my truck or car to a tire merchant, they put it up on the lift and pull off the wheels. I don't see that happening with my trailer for 1) I don't think it will fit in their shop due to height and/or length issues and 2) even if it did fit, I don't think I would trust them to lift it without damaging the frame or axles. Do I need to take it to an RV shop? There are a few tire merchants within easy driving distance I guess I could take them off in the driveway one at a time and run them up and back individually.Re: Diesel vs gas......................We get it 8.1, that with that gas hog of yours you need to stop all the time and fill up so you are always looking to find the cheapest gas and mapping it out to make sure there are enough stations along the way so you don't run out. That you have to scrimp and save every penny in order to afford all of that gas so you are very grateful for your new Shell card because with the large amount of gas that you have to buy to feed that beast, Shell gives you back money for keeping up the national demand for oil. (I thought you never paid for gas, you had all these passengers who paid for the gas for you?) I bet the folks on dial-up or who have a metered pay-per-byte internet access appreciate the little images you keep posting.Re: Diesel vs gas......................Me thinks p(h)onie missed an H when he was registering the name.Re: Diesel vs gas......................BP down the street from our house went to $4.05 on Tuesday. It was at $4.90 for a while, then dropped $0.32 to $4.58, then dropped $0.23 to $4.35 and now dropped $0.30 to $4.05! The other stations on my route are also dropping though not as fast, they were still at $4.36 and $4.49 this morning. Guess where I'm buying my deisel? :) PS: None of them are a Safeway or offering any cash vs credit or any other kind of discount I can see.Re: Diesel vs gas......................Diesel's been slowly dropped over here the last few weeks. The Exxon is usually about average of them all, it went from $4.75 -> $4.65 -> $4.55. There's one BP station though, when it started going up they went up first and the highest, it has stayed steady at $4.90 for well over a month plus until yesterday when it went from $4.90 as I went past going to work to $4.58 on my way home, $0.32 drop in one afternoon! I guess they sucked as much as they could out of those dumb enough to not drive a little further down the road. (I see a lot of dump trucks there and figure they get a lot of commercial customers) I paid $4.53 at Sunnoco less than a mile down the road on Monday. Previously the Sunnoco was $4.65.Re: Diesel vs gas......................8.1, we get it! I bet you save a bunch of money on your car insurance too. As my kids would say "Noted"Re: Diesel vs gas......................Even the ponie can't get MPGs off his brain. ;) ponie wrote: In addition, we will be doing a 70mpg shift test. Sorry, I couldn't resist. Sounds like you got it all laid out as to what performance parameters you're looking for. Any plans to video tape it 'cause you know no matter what you come up with, there will be somebody who will question what really happened.Re: Diesel vs gas...................... ponie wrote: I wish you guys would invest more text into performance figures like you contiue to do with your MPG. None of you can pick a GVCW and give me a number like 25,000 #s 0-70 MPH in 26 seconds. Could it be because very few load up a trailer and go time themselves in the quarter mile yet most keep track of their mileage?Re: Diesel vs gas...................... 8.1 Van wrote: Are YOU that clueless like the other one.:R No, just kinda looking for clarification. 15MPG sounded kinda high for towing a 41' trailer. I could have ASSumed you were spouting off more BS and that was your quoted fully loaded towing a 41'ft trailer mileage, instead I questioned it. (that's what the funny little "?" is for, it means that's a question)
