Does anyone know any sites(preferably free) that I can get owner manuals for it?Re: Pilgrim Travel TrailersLaundry chutes? So that is what those things are for! Ha. I do like the setup of the camper. This one is a bunk house with 2nd slides. The previous owner pulled out the jack knife sofa and the top bunk and built a framed twin bed in it's place. It eliminated the space for the outside storage access. I an taking it back to original with a slight modification on the top bunk to fold it down against the wall instead of up. It should fit behind the top edge of the sofa. This will allow us to still see out the side window when the bunk isn't in use.Pilgrim Travel TrailersI am buying a used 30' Pilgrim Bunk house travel trailer. It has 2 slides. I couldn't bring it home because it had a gas leak and the front slide would not close. They were working to figure out the problem when I left. Is this a regular problem with Pilgrim campers or is this just a fluke? Are Pilgrim campers good campers?Re: pulling trailers over 35 feet.Wow. I agree. Dodge Transmissions suck. Unfortunately I am stuck with it for a couple more years. We decided to go with a 31 foot Pilgrim Bunk house with 2 slides. The weight is still up there though. I ordered the Bank transmission gauge but it hasn't arrived yet.Re: pulling trailers over 35 feet..Re: pulling trailers over 35 feet.I talked to the transmission repair company today. They told me that all Dodge transmissions have a cooler bypass in them. Their standard procedure is to remove the bypass on every dodge transmission they work on. They say that solves a lot of problems with overheating. I am going to add the Transmission temp gauge. That seems smart regardless of what camper I have. Over all I think I will buy the 37" camper and just take it easy for a couple of years till I am ready to buy a new truck. The gauge should tell me when to pull off and let it cool down. The camper is just too good a deal to pass up. Thanks for all your help.Re: pulling trailers over 35 feet.I am trying to remember what they told me. I think they told me that the transmission cooler was the reason I was having the problem and they did something to make it run better in the future. They didn't install a new cooler. I'm not sure but they may have bypassed it. The transmission garage is closed today. I need to call on Monday. I don"t know much about transmissions. Would it be obvious if I looked under the truck?Re: pulling trailers over 35 feet.OK I have more information now. the camper weighs 7,700lbs. My truck is a 99 Dodge Ram 3/4 ton 5.9L engine with a max towing capacity of 8,400lbs. It is a crew cab with a full size bed, 8,800lbs gross vehicle weight. It has 92,000 miles on it. What do you think? Am I OK or is this pushing the max a little too close? Are the manufactures conservative when they list those specs? I did have transmission trouble in 2006 and I had it rebuilt. I saw the camper tonight and did not see anything that scared me away.Re: pulling trailers over 35 feet.Wow this is a great forum site. I signed up and posted my question yesterday and every answer had good information I can use. Thank you to everyone that responded. I am going to get my owners manual out tomorrow and do a little research on the truck.I plan to drive up tomorrow to check the camper out. Thanks again!pulling trailers over 35 feet.I have a 24 foot camper. We are thinking of upgrade to a 37 foot camper. I have a 3/4 ton dodge (gas). This is probably a stupid question but is my truck big enough to pull one? and 2. Are these big trailers used for regular travel camping or do people usually get permanent sites for them?
