Great place to hike and bike. Or try the forgotten part of Acadia, Schoodic Woods CG, great CG, a bit of a drive back to Bar Harbor, but well worth it. https://www.recreation.gov/camping/campgrounds/251833 I just checked... and they have changed! Years ago Schoodic Woods did not have reservations, it was just first come - first served... which is a big part of why we didn't stay there. Looks like they turned that around and require reservations.Re: Post your tow vehicle pics hereI like the step on the front corner of the bed. That is needed with how tall today's trucks are!Re: Maine Coastal Campground SuggestionsI always recommend Acadia National Park, which includes Bar Harbor. They charge to use it if you are not camping there - they charge the same as the daily camping rate (I think $30?). And... I don't know how much longer the Park's campground will be open. Just an idea.Re: Hard sided campers under 1500lbs with 6' int ht spreadsheet. What are your camping plans? If you are planning on a lot of camping, you may find yourself wanting a larger trailer. You are limiting yourself due to your SUV. You don't need a F450 and up truck for small to mid size camping trailers. I pull a 21 foot trailer with my 2021 F150 and it tows great. But... the larger, more capable truck you have gives you more options for trailer sizes and weights. Also, if you are thinking of wilderness camping, a pickup truck is many times more capable off road than a SUV, and you have all that open pickup bed space for carrying stuff - like extra water. I think I missed it, but why are you insisting on a "hard sided" trailer? Plenty of pop-ups are quite roomy and have tall ceilings - and are really easy to tow with an SUV.Re: App to tell us when we're near a place on our bucket list? rk911 wrote: this might work. https://youtu.be/uBoRIwXWZIU?si=HNEFMTvqwvj939f1 https://www.makeuseof.com/top-location-based-reminder-apps/ https://www.macrumors.com/how-to/create-location-based-reminder-ios/ Interesting! I don't think it has ever occurred to me that "location reminders" were a thing. Good thread!Re: Electric OutletsJust poking my nose in here to find out about upgrading outlets.Re: Just Joining The RV LifeWhat do you mean by "brand new"? Have you camped in the past? How long have you owned your 5th wheel? Have you towed it much (or at all)? You have a lot of adventures ahead!
