Usually pull @ 1600rpm, and keep it in top gear. I thought you said 3.51 gears now its 3.55 ?Re: RV wind deflectors do they work we will see TravelinDog wrote: ivbinconned wrote: My Ram is a 16. Have been pulling for 45 years. I think I know what I’m doing and not interested in debate. We carry 100 imperial gallons which is bigger than the US gal. Many times we have pulled 1400 plus miles before filling. I pull between 60 and 70 mph. So if you're comparing Imperial gallons to U.S. gallons perhaps you're also measuring kilometers traveled and KPH. So those 1400 "miles" you claim to have gotten only equal out to 869.91 actual miles. That I can believe. sounds about right you if think about itRe: RV wind deflectors do they work we will see2 wheel drive will get a little better fuel and 3.51 gears are good for mid loads as long as your not doing a lot of uphill I have 373 in F350 and that seems to be a good gear for this truck as long as I don't go over 70 MPH or 2000 RPMsRe: RV wind deflectors do they work we will seeya tall tails on the netRe: RV wind deflectors do they work we will see fj12ryder wrote: Not really debating the wind deflector now. Mostly scoffing at the 14+ mpg pulling a 13,000 lb. 5th wheel. Or rather, trying not to scoff. :) LOLRe: RV wind deflectors do they work we will seeare we still debating this? I posted last summer I drove across the entire country pulling my 40ft 5th and it didn't help more than 0.5 MPG. Just saying I sent it back and would not have done that for no reason if it worked. I did see someone pulling an RV that had a custom-made one that looked good but it was mounted on his toolbox right behind his cab. that one might have worked better.Re: RV wind deflectors do they work we will seeGood looking rigRe: RV wind deflectors do they work we will seeyour truck loaded by itself ( wife LOL , tools , fuel , etc ) is 16K WOW that's like double the trucks empty weight !!!!!!!!!Re: RV wind deflectors do they work we will seeI seen one yesterday on my way back from AZ to CO, it looked good but was custom. It was mounted right behind the can on basically squire tube bracing to make it level with the cab off the guy's fuel tank or toolbox. it looked good. and the plastic air dam was kind of V-nosed, it almost looked factory he did a good job. I tried to get a picture but by the time I got around to it, was took late. His probably did better because it was closer to his 5th wheel
