I have copied and pasted a lot of the wonderful tips, gadgets etc from this forum. Does anyone use any apps for finding campgrounds etc. I came across the Allstay app, wondered if anyone could provide any feedback. Thanks, Nerissa Yes...one that I use is Camp Finder at CampingRoadTrip.com, Good Sam App, and I use the website rvparkreviews.com most of the time. If you Google rv parks you'll get a slew of websites. Not all have apps but if you have data/wifi abilities on your cell phone, you can use the websites. Happy hunting!Re: Handy Hints, Gadgets, Products & GizmosIn the box where it says page 165, replace the 165 with the number 52. This works for me, hope this works for you too...Re: Handy Hints, Gadgets, Products & Gizmos ctpres wrote: "windproof" clothes line! It is a webbed line with slots for hangers. Very light weight and only about $2 on Ebay. Has anybody tried these clothes lines? If so can you give us a review? Thanks in advance!Re: Handy Hints, Gadgets, Products & Gizmos amandasgramma wrote: CarpFishermanAndWife wrote: After reading the whole forum, I told hubby alot of people were trying to figure out how to keep their toilet rolls from unrolling during driving. He asked "why not just take the roll off the roller?" I never thought about the obvious - duh! ;) :) you're married to a genius!!!!! We take our paper towels off the roll.....a LOT easier than worrying about bungee cords, etc. In our first RV we used a straight pin with a ball head - stuck one in TP roll and one in paper towel roll. Worked like a charm. In the new RV the TP roll is on a post and stands on end. No problem with unrolling now and the paper towel hold is now a 'ratchet' type and doesn't unroll either.Re: Handy Hints, Gadgets, Products & Gizmos clyons206 wrote: Garmin 660 was a good unit, had some issues. I presently have and like Garmin. However here is a good one which I am oredring.RAND MCNALLY RVND7720. No reviews yet, but it is the new version(all bugs taken out and there was a lot)previous was RVND7710. I also spoke with factory TECKS about these 3 units GARMIN 660 Magellan 9165 and the Rand. MY choice hands down is the Rand with lifetime maps. Also available for this unit is an sat.driven Traffic checker. Really cool. $40 on Amazon. Unit is $3339 from Randmcnally I've read some reviews...don't think I'm too impressed. I'll wait. Our Garmin 2720 works good enough for us. Point A to point B. We do our own research on POI's along the way.Re: Handy Hints, Gadgets, Products & Gizmos tomman58 wrote: Boy seem like you are working hard, very hard to have fun. LOL I also plan my trips using Microsoft Excel, rv park reviews.com, Google for views of areas and a call to the park. We are never going in blind and have put 65,000 miles on our current rig plus about 15,000 on our past trailer using this method. Good Luck We use Microsoft Streets & Trips to plan our daily drives...it shows little blue dots where the campgrounds are and we look for those at 'end of day' to help us find a place to stay. Then I too use Google Earth to look at the location and RV Park Reviews to get others opinions on that campground. Then I call and make our reservations. These are the best tools I know of to get you there without chasing around at the end of a long day of driving! Safe travels to all...Re: Handy Hints, Gadgets, Products & Gizmos medic9016 wrote: We use those plastic suction hooks outside out TT for wet swim suits and towels. The stick fine to the siding or window of the tt. Aren't they great?? We use them for hanging bags for everyone to put their trash/soda cans in. When full, off to the CG trash they go. Good idea using them for towels! Thanx!Re: Handy Hints, Gadgets, Products & Gizmos Bofus wrote: BUMP! Whew!--I think I said what many other readers wanted to say long ago... This is just to let you know, you weren't speaking for me. Somebody on here MAY have had a 'handy hint or gadget' to solve Bertnspike's problem. In addition there may have been a few others that could use the info too. You could have said that to the poster in a private message instead of rudely blasting them publicly. Just sayin'... WHEW...got that off my chest!Re: Handy Hints, Gadgets, Products & GizmosBumpRe: Handy Hints, Gadgets, Products & Gizmos imgoin4it wrote: We use an "absorber" which is sold in the auto care section of Walmart. Works better than anything else we have tried or found. We have several of these for the car and the motorhome...and they are wonderful! We just never thought of using one to wipe down the shower! Thanks for another great idea!
