That area along hwy 19? Thanks JonWest Virginia Recommendations Big Rig FriendlyLooking for suggestions of the best RV parks in West Virginia that are big rig accessible (no hookups are also fine) and locations south of I 64 down to KY and VA. Resorts to wilderness all recommendations are welcome. ThanksRe: Holiday Trav-l Park, Emerald Isle,NCCheck their facebook for more updates throughout the storm. Boardwalk RV (next door) and the waterslide park took the direct hit, seems like HTP damage was more outside the park like up by the storage lot area.Re: Outer Banks National Park Service campgroundsLocal schools will be starting back. Also the NPS campgrounds now take reservations and some now have hookups (Oregon Inlet for example). I just checked and I see plenty of open reserve sites for late August. We leave nearby and we were able to get an electric site in Mid-August just a few weeks out booking but I don't suggest you wait that long. Do you know which campground(s) you want to spend the most time at? Oregon Inlet is good choice while doing the activities up in Nags Head area.Re: Myrtle BeachIf you don't need to be on the beach you can try Willow Tree inland.+Re: Oregon InletI have been since new hookups have been installed and if they continue to add more hookups I see issues in the future. My view is this, as they add more hookups they will attract some of the crowd in larger campers that they did not previously attract and they did not extend the length of the parking pads. Also this campground has a very very narrow one way road. With the larger campers wanting in this campground now and people are parking right up to (I mean not even an inch) from being in the road it will be a problem backing in. The weekend we were there every hookup site was full. Luckily we arrive before they became full so we did not have issues but some of the late arrives really struggled backing in if the people across the street were not home to make cars out of the way. Good thing is there is no trees so if you have to you can cut it really short and go all in the grass. Also, the rules are all tires must be on pavement but that was not happening many tires were in the grass (tow vehicle or toads). I never saw the ranger bother or address this issue with anyone.
