Coach Net would not let me use a local company which could do it on a flatbed, and instead required that I use one they sent down to me from Memphis, TN. They said they could not use a flatbed with the Roadtrek. Very exasperating ordeal.2012 Roadtrek SS Starter Fuse ProblemHeads up to anyone with Mercedes Sprinter 2011 chassis on your B: I went out to crank my Roadtrek last week, and even though everything lit up, air conditioner and radio came on, NOTHING happened when I tried to start it--no click, no nothing. I ended up having it towed 70 miles to the Mercedes Sprinter dealer. Turns out, Mercedes put a 20A fuse in the starter slot, when it should be 25A. I found out on a Sprinter forum that this happened on the 2011 model. Dealers were notified, but no recall issued. Now I am taking the RT to a camper place to make sure nothing was screwed up underneath when it was towed. I'm out $75 for deductable on towing, and whatever the camper place charges me. Makes me mad...Cover for Roadtrek SS AgileHave any of you purchased a cover for your Roadtrek? If so, what brand did you get, and are you satisfied with it? How hard is it to put on? Can one person, with a ladder, do it? The covered RV storage facilities are all full here, and my HOA does not want campers or vans of any sort parked in driveways. I can get it into a storage facility that will let me park it on the lot, but it won't be covered. I don't want to store it at my farm again because of mice. Any advice?Re: RECALL ON SPRINTER EGR VALVE??I have the 2011 chassis on my 2012 Roadtrek. There was a recall on the EGR valve. Mine was replaced when I got my 10,000 mile service back in February. I did NOT get any notification from Mercedes or Roadtrek. The only reason I know it happened is from going back and looking at the service record after reading your post. How do you open windows behind stove & sink in RT SS Agile? The countertop in my 2012 Roadtrek Agile SS is so close to the windows that I cannot get my hand down in there to turn the crank to open either window. Since the RT owner's manual says to open a window when using the gas stove, how does anyone out there do it? Of course, I open other windows, instead, but am stumped as to why the counter was placed so close to the turn knob. I'm going to try to get the visegrip to reach down in there, but, even if this works, I should not have to resort to this. Is this a design defect anyone else has noticed?Re: Pre-Purchase Check List (Roadtrek Specific?) & Gobbly-GookSo Susan, what have you decided to do about the van?Re: What should I buy??Think I'll muddy the water a little here! Right now I have a 2012 Roadtrek Agile SS, my second one. I owned a View in between, which I hated, because it was too big to park anywhere I wanted, and it had dual rear wheels, which I did not like to drive. However, the best and most comfortable traveling and sleeping camper I ever had was a Northern Lite truck camper on a quad cab 4X4 Dodge diesel truck. My late husband and I took it all over the west and Canada. It slept 4 comfortably, had a nice bathroom, and we could park it and drive it where ever we needed to. When we weren't camping, we took the Northern Lite off and used the truck. It got close to 20 mpg. Alaska is certainly a place where a good truck would fit in!Re: SCREENS FOR 2006 SPRINTER ROADTREK ADVENTUROUS loggenrock wrote: We went to a (tent) camping supply store and bought screening, vs Home Depot, etc for window screening. For the front doors, we made what are called "bag screens" - you sew a 2-sided screen pocket, with the bottom left open, in the shape of your doors. Use by opening the front door, pull the screen "bag" over the door itself, close the door. Now you can open/close the door window as needed, but there is screen over it (actually both sides...). We use a strip of magnetic tape along the bottom screen edge on the outside of the door to hold the screening tight to the door below the bottom of the window so no bugs (I hate bugs...) can sneak in... ST Can you post a photo? Sounds like something I would like to do.Re: 2012 Roadtrek SS Battery Separator Making clicking noiseI called the nearest RT dealer, actually have 2 locations between 150 and 200 miles away. They are backed up at least 2 weeks. The service technician had not had that problem come in before. Called the dealer where I purchased it, RV World in Lakeland, FL. They had one with the clicking sound once in the past, which was a new one on the lot. He did not recall what happened with it. Nobody had heard of any recalls. I found the Surefire recall numbers, and mine is not in the S/N batch, which is good, since the problems associated with the recall are overheating, smoke, and fire. Still trying to call Surefire anyway, but the recall phone number is on the Pacific coast, and they are still asleep. I am trying to get in touch with the local RV dealer and get it in there. Trouble is, everyone is super busy now! Thanks for everyone's help! I am going to take the check list ya'll generated to the RV center. I believe it's normal but you can check with live chat on the Roadtrek.com website. I have 14k plus miles on it, and have not heard this clicking before. I know it is not normal. I was on a 700 mile drive to the coast and back when when it started, and it never stopped. I'm checking with Roadtrek today. I do not want to take it to the local RV dealer nearby, who is not a RT dealer, when it is something electrical/battery related. I found a picture online of the separator that was recalled and it looks like mine--same model #. It just seems like somebody with a Roadtrek on here would have gotten a notice, though.
