A dual battery box for 6 volt batteries is smaller.Re: Light 5th WheelsJust about any one of the new Montana High Country 5th wheels would work for you. We are super happy with ours.Re: Number of spare tiresGave up on the Good Sam ERS card. Changing the tire was covered, but wanted $400 to bring a tire.Re: Why only one bed in a fifth wheel and why sooo tall?Told my kids: The reason the fifth wheel only sleeps 4 is because they don't make one that only sleeps 2.Re: 2000 miles into trip I hit the scales. You might want to try the 16% grade on Hwy 18 up to Big Bear Lake, CA. Oh and the 5 switchbacks. Makes an interesting trip. You need to wait for the traffic on the outside to clear because with the slope and switchback you need all the road.New Fifth-wheel and New truckAll the new pickups with 4WD appear to be a lot higher at the bed than the 2002 I currently have. When looking for a new fifth-wheel, I don't want to immediately have to lift the trailer or flip the axles. Is there a fifth-wheel manufacturer out there who is finally building a rig with a higher front end?Re: Sanitizing fresh water, how do you get bleach in the tankI use Chlorinating Granules. Can find them at swimming pool or spa supply, even Wal-Mart. One (1) teaspoon into the hose, hook hose to inlet and fill tank. One teaspoon is good for my 100 gallon water tank. Turn off water heater. When tank has been filled, turn off water supply, turn on pump. Let all faucets, both hot and cold run until you smell the chlorine. Let stand for 24 hours. Drain tank. Fill with fresh water and then flush system. Being sure to flush water heater tank. Works very good for me.Re: New truckThanks for all the input. My current pickup is a 2002 Chevy, 2500HD, extended cab, 6 1/2 foot box. That's the size I'd like to stay with for more reasons than the garage size. I see from all the responses, that I will need to go to the dealerships and ask some questions. The web sites make it very difficult to find the answers I am looking for. One thing I have discovered in my research is that the new vehicles are about 4 to 6 inches higher at the bed rail than my current truck. Rats, just when I got the 5th wheel towing level.New truckLooking for a new tow vehicle. Either 2500 or 3500. However, I want an extended or club cab. Not a crew cab. The crew cab is too long and will not fit in the garage. I've looked at the Chevy, Ford, and Dodge web sites and have not been able to find anything. Am I looking in the wrong places? Or, am I just blind?
