We have a bunch of VMax 12v 100 AH AGM batteries in our comm trailer.... have been working well for years. I note today they are $289 on Amazon, yet a good quality Weize 12V 100AH LiFePO4 battery is now $299. Geez Why replace the alternator when the problem is with whatever charger/converter the RV uses to charge your battery when on shore power. Since you are still having the overcharge issue with a new battery I would think most likely the problem is with your shore powered charger unit.
