I really like Hope Valley RV Park near Salem oregon, on Enchanted Way, which is next to Enchanted Forest. A wonderful place for children. Salem area is just Hours away from the Coast, Mountains and close enough to drive to Portland/Eugene for the day. Also, if you have an Elk Member, you can stay at many Elk Clubs.Re: Extended WarrantyMy Father paid $1871 for the platinum warranty. He has a 34' cougar 2008 travel trailer w/1 slide. We are currently in the process of filing a claim; so far I have been working on it since Thurs, Sept 25th. Dad is 84, can not drive (has Macular degen.) and we bought this plan for the mobile service unit. 1st mobile unit was denied because he has a lic in more than one state and would not be avail year round in Dad's area. mmmmm, ok. BTW, plan only covers a max amount of $1500 (which we did not know and were not told at time of purchase), but he only has to pay $100 deductible. now doing research on companies in Bend Oregon area. they need to travel to Christmas Valley Oregon. Good luck to you. Do a good deal of research before you buy an extended warrenty. Oh, and it was actually the guy I was gonna hire that told me to call USA first to get him approved. Today, I had to call him back and tell him I could not hire him. He told me he kinda suspected that would happen, many of his customers (in the LaPine, Oregon area) have problems with getting claims paid by them. We shall see. I will bird dog this company on behalf of my Father and all other Elders out there. ~~ OwldancerRe: USA Travelcare extended warrantyMy Father paid $1871 for the platinum warranty. Meaning, the garage part is just wide enough for a small golf cart/scooter, motorcycle or sm ATV. Also has a 12' slide and bedroom slide. Really like a small apartment. I will be looking for a nice 5th Wheel myself next year or so. Most places will charge your stay according to the length, so, why not make that TOTAL living space instead of paying for the empty space of your tongue? :R Just Sayin'Re: Screen roomsUmmmm, what about the ones that attach to your awning and/or side of RV? Some I have seen in use are pretty nasty; broken zippers and things like that. Then I've also seen one that seemed to be nice and straight walled with nice door. looked like it attached to the underneath part of awning and then side walls attached to the RV.Re: KVH Trackvision in motion sat dish will become obsolete! My friend just bought a rig with a sat already installed. however, the dealer did not have any info on it. the rig is a 2008, so, we figure it maybe isnt too old. So, how does one tell what kind of sat it is?Re: Best Winter RV? MUCH appreciated. I figured the sales people are full of themselves. My friend, however, believes some of the******they lay down. and, I have never before heard of a Jayco being a good winter RV. My Father just bought a nice Cougar. he lives in Central Oregon (Christmas Valley) and the temps there can drop well below Zero, the linoleum split near the middle and curled up. They are going to send a mobile repair unit to fix it. I will print all this information and show it to my friend. I want her to invest in a good home to live in! Owldancer (^.^) UPDATE: Of COURSE, linoleum is NOT covered under waranty. apparently, the way this trailer is made; they do not glue the linoleum down and only screw the floor down at the outer corners. GEEZ, woulda been nice to know this BEFORE spending a buttload of money.Best Winter RV?looking for an RV that can be lived in during winter. Have been told by a salesperson that Jayco's are the only RV that is sealed underneath. True or False? Another salesperson told us that a true 4 season is difficult to find, although anything 4 season will be better insulated than non-4 season rigs. looking for 5th wheel or bumper pull. all information is appreciated!
